Helfrich and Coker are different. This isnt Chip's roster. Coker took over a returning juggernaut. Other than Fife not being better than Harrington Oregon always comes up with a QB. Mariota is a system QB. Maybe the best ever but not irreplaceable. Rogers replaced Farve and Young replaced Montana.
Helfrich has proved a lot this year. Petersen hasn't. But AZ is also right in that no one was turning uw in one year.
Petersen has to do something next year to give us hope. Like finding a fucking QB that can play. And actually changing the loser culture even if they lose 4 or 5 games again
Helfrich hasn't proven shit yet. David Shaw won the Pac-12 twice in a row and he sucks.

I Iike to point to extreme outliers like Montana to Young and Favre to Rodgers as if this happens everyday.
Peterson is a great {rip} WAC coach, an above average Mtn West Coach, and appears to be over his head in the Pac 12. Time will tell.
But this team had 10 win talent with that schedule and he crashed it into the wall with 6 losses.
Can we please put then over his head trope to rest? Smith maybe, but this is the laziest narrative re: Peterman. There is a difference between not knowing how to coach and just making bad decisions.
Helfrich makes it to the natty with Chip's roster in year 2.
What inherent truths were we supposed to pull out of these results again?
All rank speculation at this point, but the "Helfrich is Chip paint fumes + Mariota" routine is lazy. What has Peterman done to improve the program in Seattle to date? If you look at another similar rebuild at Texas, you can see Strong having done a 180 with the defense and cut tons of dead wood even if the team still has a ways to go. UW looks mentally weak, the QB development was atrocious. I find it hard to believe there isn't one serviceable D-1A QB on that roster.

It's what I like to do.
I could have listed every Oregon qb since 2007 instead

Me, laptops and your overrating of Jeremiah Masoli are havin a little snicker over that gem.

There's not some magic badass powder that emanates from the fucking blue field that keeps Boise being Boise while coaches leave and fail. That is why Mosster is so fucking stupid, and anyone else who tries to connect Petersen to Cudder and Hookins. UW is much more supportive and fruitful for building a program than fucking Colorado and ASU, for reasons that have been iterated here over and over.
It's not a secret, Boise has a winning culture, just like Oregon. It's a matter of changing the culture of UW from one of losing, and that's fucking hard to do. Hence good coaches coming in cleaning house while having mediocre to bad years in year 1. Helfrich hasn't had to change a culture or even deal with any adversity at that program yet.

If the team had 10 win talent they would have won ten games
Your Division 1 coach is worse than the FCS coach he replaced
But thanks for your input
Your right, going 5-4 in the Pac 12 and then being asked to beat a 6-6 bowl team, is a big stretch.
Peternan certainly milked every drop of talent out of this group.
So why didn't WSU do that in Leach's 3rd year?
You are who your record says you are. They were a 8 win team
So let me get this straight. For the last 4 years at this time Sark sucked because he only won 7-(8) games. All you heard on dmc (riaff) and here is that Sark under achieved. "We had 9 or 10 win talent" this season.
Rinse. Lather. Repeat.
So when Peterman has the softest OOC schedule in America with 4 built in wins, and almost everybody on here saying 10 wins easy.
Peterman doesn't underachieve at 8-6...?
You go back to the "you are what you're record is" safety net.

I'm honest with my assessment of CML.
He's sucked so far.
How about you?
I don't compare 1st year coaches to 3rd and 5th year coaches. I don't think a shitty program has great talent. I'm not a coog. Hope this helps

Masoli was fine on the field and Oregon is a great organization like the Packers and the old Niners. Of course that concept is an outlier to a coog.

Simple and true.
I'd be careful.
That safety net is starting to unravel a bit.
