PG - NWG SG(or off guard for all your fucktards who are going to tell me romar doesn't have a 1-5 system) - AA SF - Anderson PF - JJ C - Upshaw
Bench rotation
1 - Dorsey 2 - Kemp 3 - Winters
Looking at it like this worries me. Kemp and Upshaw both can get themselves in foul trouble real quickly. They both also get gassed pretty quickly. If one of them gets in early foul trouble, the other has to play a ton of consecutive minutes which will hurt late in games. If both get in foul trouble in the same game we're fucked. We have no other big. Not even a garbage big. JJ? No WAY he's playing the 5. At that point we'd probably have to go NWG, AA, Dorsey/Winters/DJ, Anderson (he played the 4 a good amount last year, but we sucked last year) and JJ. That's a pretty bad defensive lineup.
They passed the scrimmage games and got a trophy out of it, now they have two chances to get quality non-conf wins against SDSU (#15, almost beat Arizona) and Oklahoma. Drop em both, probably pretenders and miss the tourney again. Split em, LIPO but encouraging. Take em both, probably sitting at 12-0, ranked top 20 going into conference play and we no longer get bitched at for posting about basketball on the main board.
By top 20 I meant top 10 and at this point I don't care about basketball on the main bored, I like our little community of people that actually give a shit.
He at least moved like he has played before tonight. I was pretty critical on him last game, but that between the legs drive he had looked nice. And I loved how he shot the long J without hesitation and confidence. Swish every time. Probably the most encouraging thing about this game.
I don't have a problem with JJ. I accepted he's only a role playing 2nd big a long time ago. He's 6'10" and not a total stiff. He's long and moves fairly well on defense. He's a pussy around the basket and is an average rebounder, but he has some decent tools as the 2nd big. I think he compliments Upshaw well.

But then it is JJ so not much is expected of him.
Eventually he'll be good and possibly really good.
As long as he doesn't take jumpers and pretends to play good d, I'm okay with him taking minutes between Kemp and Upshaw.
And yes, we don't have any other option.
Now more than ever
