So this weekend's update with the Bastard Sonics ...
As predicted, their win streak built up against some dreckfest teams has hit a rough patch now that they are starting to play some more difficult competition. Of course, Durant getting hurt hasn't helped. But at the same time, shit happens.
Tonight's loss at home to a New Orleans team playing the 2nd of a back to back after getting blown out last night is a bad loss. There's no 2 ways to slice that.
Schedule continues to pick up a bit.
Again, for those slow, I would definitely say that they are still a favorite to make the playoffs and should end up in the 50-53 win range barring further significant injuries. 52-30 for the season would have them going 39-15 the rest of the way - which is playing at a relatively high level.
The more interesting development may be that Phoenix has won 3 straight and appears to have righted the ship and New Orleans having a fairly decent 2 week stretch and an upcoming schedule in January that is highly favorable as by my count only 6 of their 15 games are against teams that are sure fire playoff teams.
I'll eat my crow. I was wrong about the Thunder making the playoffs. I didn't realize Durant would miss 55 games and Ibaka would miss the last 15. Injuries are part of the game though. There is a lot of FS in this thread.
