I am also concerned with pilot competence. But that doesn't appear to be the issue this time. Like I said why did you vote for continuing DEI and putting pilot competence behind DEI categories. I know that focusing on the issues at hand is like salt to a snail and accepting responsibility for your team's policies is like the adult thing to do but you are hardly an adult.
I don’t understand why you all wrapped up on race-when I’m airborne and on the radio I don’t ask the person first if they are a DEI hire or not. SwoopTheMoin for the record is pro pilot safety, pro FAA reform, and anti uneducated opinion!
Just not voting issues for you. You are just completely uneducated and lack intellectual curiosity and honesty. I believe in MLK Jr. on the content of your character and not your skin color. That's in the Constitution and in the 1964 Civil Rights Act. It is your team that prioritized skin color. You voted for it. When Kamala was made VP solely because she was female and black don't tell me that I'm caught up in race. I choose not to ignore the lack of competency when I see it. All those white dudes who were after Trump were incompetent and corrupt. Newsom is incompetent. And so is Bass the LA mayor. Skin color or sex or sexual preference has nothing to do with it. You just choose to ignore and excuse incompetence for reasons you will never explain.
Of course you didn't take a stance. Leftards are intellectual cowards. I did take a stance. MLK Jr., the Constitution and the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Tough to argue with that unless you are a coward.
I think it has been covered by other folks since I am just catching up on this thread, but there indeed have been DEI hires throughout the industry. Some of it is corporate greed and corner cutting or whatever, see Boeing. Whether you want to accept it's probably a factor is another topic I guess.
What is a DEI hire? There have absolutely been outreaches to find more employees to work in aviation. It's a labor intensive business and labor shortages have been a challenge. There is still a shortage in many roles. That outreach takes many forms.
I struggle to comprehend anyone in position of authority to approve someone to proceed in a safety critical role due to some lessening of standards for non-whites. They would be derelict in their duty if that happened.
Actually, I don't struggle. You can just look at the dementia patient's administration. You think the Secret Service DEI hire was concerned about the safety of Trump? You think that Mayor Buttplug was appointed to make the US transportation system more efficient? You think that Kamala was selected as VP because of her sterling record?
Look, it's just not about hiring DEI incompetents. I agree that at some point you can relax standards and still hire DEI candidates. But, they actually have to be able to sort of fly a plane and sort of handle air traffic at a busy airports. And you can sort of cover up their operational inefficiences by giving them the easiest flight routes or make sure they have a really good co-pilot. Or that they aren't given an ATC job at Reagan airport but keep them at Omaha, Nebraska.
Next, who was supervising the ATC at Reagan AirPort and who was there boss? Apparently, there were only 19 ATCs on duty out of 30 supposed slots. You had the one ATC handling the airspace where the tragedy occurred. At what point does someone say, "Hey, we can't handle the helicopter traffic and all helicopters are now exclude until further notice from Reagan airspace." Your down a third of your needed staffing. You restrict air operations at 50% down? 75% down? When you have incompetent leadership you get bad results. The guy handling the airspace may have been a top performer but he was trying to do two jobs. I'm assuming that it wouldn't be his call to restrict accesss to the airspace. Whose was it?
Finally, there are two ways to hit your DEI hire quota. Assume DEI hires are your numerator. And your total hires are your denominator. If you are having trouble getting your numerator up to DEI speed, then you restrict your denominator by not hiring competent white males. Which is what happened. Then you blame problems on a staffing shortage. Sorry about the math leftards.

Spaz’s ideal FAA Director. Thankfully Sen. Sinema crossed party lines and voted with the GOP to defeat this clown in committee.
The rest of the Democrats passed him because he’s a black guy.

Notice I did not take a stance on DEI! I am picturing @WestlinnDuck with the Jim Carey furiously typing meme while discussing MLK.
SwoopTheMoon-Pro Pilot Safety AND pro passenger safety! Whatever it takes!!

Truly inspiring.
Routine annual re-training of night flights on a standard corridor for a Continuity of Government mission.
X accounts with less than 4000 followers are the best sources, if Ern wants to play the source game.
DEI had nothing to do with it
DEI is good
Trump did it!
I believe I called this.
Just a coincidence where people die.
Again.
Allegedly, but it’s out there.
Conflicting Information so I deleted.
Reports are this guy/gal is still alive.
But what a fucked up time in history that gender dysphoria is even a consideration.
@EverettChris posting incorrect information on this board and having to remove? Shocker lulz
See, I’m already more honorable than your media sources, Spaz.

about what I expected from you
What, no meme this time?
@Fire_Marshall_Bill i agree with you-we shouldn’t bottleneck what would drive pilot safety!
I have not seen that covered. Sorry.
