Eight wins is your floor next season. Fucking Iowa with an offense out of the stone age won 10 games in the shitty, bottom heavy Big 10. Your OOC slate is straight up garbage so that's 3 wins. Northwestern, Rutgers, Indiana and Iowa should be 4 more. I don't see UW going 0-fer the rest: @Penn State, Michigan, UCLA, USC and @Oregon. Michigan loses a ton. Penn State is a fraud. UCLA is perennially average. USC seems like they are in a free fall. And you have Oregon's number. There's no reason that UW can't be competitive in most/all of those. I think 8 wins with Deboer is your floor going forward and you should be in the mix for the playoff annually.
As a fan of a team that rode a generational QB to a national championship, I don't know how replicable and sustainable that is. Deboer is a really good coach who seems to maximize talent though. The kid from Mississippi State is solid. He put up good numbers for Leach. He will score points in your system, especially with the majority of the offensive line coming back (that's correct, no?). You can find WRs in the portal. It's the easiest position to restock, even if you don't find an Odunze or Polk, there are soooooo many WRs that should want to play in that system.
Long term, though, I think overall UW needs to be bigger/ stronger / deeper in the trenches to make it through a 12 team playoff. They were able to overcome it against Texas because 1) Penix was on fire and 2) UT has shit for pass rushers off the edge and bad safety play. UW was a terrible matchup for Texas, and UT still had four chances throwing it into the endzone to win it at the end. Both Michigan and Texas made Washington one dimensional on offense and both ran it way too easily on your defense. That's a losing recipe, no matter how great your QB is.

I think we will beat one of Michigan or USC. Probably lose to Oregon. 10-2 should keep us in or around the top 15
We're already scared of Oregon again? Maybe it's time to adopt some of their mindset and not concede losses even when we do lose?
Yeah I’m surprised that now we fear Lanning.
Pros: They have more experience and nice pieces returning and Lanning is great at coaching against teams they are better than. Gabriel quitting Oklahoma is odd and he's a twerp but probably the most proven QB transfer for 2024. Tez Johnson and Jordan James could actually be better pure players than Bucky and Franklin. They care a lot as a program and transition well.
Cons: They lose all of their main stars and the engine in Nix who I think was really good for them as a leader culturally. They have no proven lightning players on either side of the ball. Lanning has been bad in games against teams as good as his and they will play more of those in 2024 than 2023.
I’m not sure why you’re getting downvoted, 8-4 seems reasonable. I wouldn’t be happy with 8, but I wouldn’t be shocked. I think 8-10 is the likely range

10-2 with that schedule will have us hosting a first round playoff game at Huskieieieie stadium
CBS sports has UW at #7 hosting #10 Ole Miss in Seattle in the first round.
That would be pretty awesome. Talk about a culture clash.
Thinking about a playoff game at Husky Stadium has me hard as a diamond in an ice storm. Coincidentally, I just got home to Idaho, where it’s supposed to be sub zero tomorrow night.

Penn State next year has an 81% chance of being their white out gayme. Their only other possibility is home vs UCLA. It won’t be Ohio State again as they are tired of losing White Outs to Ohio State.
We do happen to play PSU coming off their Ohio State game which is helpful.

All my shit talking about Penn State and their 13 points against Michigan or Ohio State came home to roost

2025 we'll be back in the playoff, pretty much for good.

Year 1: 2 losses
Year 2: 1 loss
Year 3: X losses
That's a lot for us.

We looked like Penn State Groz
