The New Sark

Crisco not being the disaster I think he is going to be at Miami is one of the most defeating things in hating Oregon ever. It's probably as simple as inheriting Herbert and veterans on the OL who were try hards and great for his scheme combined with being able to buy a few players like Sewell and Thibodeaux other schools in the shit Pac-12 other than USC who was handcuffed with Helton couldn't.YellowSnow said:Meet the new Sark. Same as the old Sark.
But still, I can remember @Dennis_DeYoung and @CokeGreaterThanPepsi cackling like a couple of school girls when Oregon hired Meat.
Oregon finds a way. -
Probably getting harder at your advanced age.RaceBannon said:See?

Utah is a better win than either of those.WoolleyDoog said:
Fair to Sumlin that he did some impressive stuff early at A&M. Also did at Houston. He's not a fair comparison.ntxduck said:
It’s a 1 year extension. That’s pretty much standard practice now, to always keep your HC on a 5 year contract. They’ll probably extend him again next offseason, too. It also increases the buyout, which is understandable after mullens has lost 2 straight HCs because he didn’t make the buyout high enough. If lanning sucks, Oregon will have no problem paying it. They’re not UW basketball.WoolleyDoog said:Only guys I think compared to Sark are:
Sumlin
Crisco
Lanning
Two just happened to coach for Oregon and two have a lot of similarities, though Crisco seemed actually more like Neuheisel to me.
Why extend Lanning and now? What's he done. His second best win an absolute white knuckler vs the Coug? Getting some weirdo mid 4 star commits from random locales?
Also, all three coaches you listed are more successful than Sark. Sumlin and cristo have won ny6 games. Sark has never even sniffed one.
Lanning’s second best win would probably be blowing out UCLA?
I stand by Crisco being more like Neu with the one NY6 win. Crisco got to coach in a dogs hit Pac that a Sark UW team or two would have had bigger success in. The Chipper Oregon and Harbaugh/Shaw Stanford teams which blocked Sark would have run freight trains on Crisco yearly had he had to coach against them.
Um, pretty sure beating UCLA was Lanning's best win. Second one is arguably the North Carolina miracle. -
The way that Altman has performed recently sitting on an ice cold seat, I would say that Oregon basketball is more like UW basketball.ntxduck said:

He’s probably forced into retirement after this season if Oregon doesn’t make the sweet 16. 2 years ago they won the conference and made the sweet 16. Yeah, that’s super similar to Hopkin’s (lack of) leashhaie said:

Have to admit I did blank on that one. I think that game confirmed Rising had confirmed downs or at least CTE. Holy shit he was bad and Kincaid should have had 250+ receiving.ntxduck said:

Oregon has been dogshit for 2 seasons and they haven't cared. Plus he can't even beat Hopkins anymore. So we'll have to just see.ntxduck said:

They have. They’ve also been better than UW. He also has a much better career resume than hopkins and built up goodwill with the AD. And he had a top recruiting class lined up for next year for a long time. They were never going to jeopardize that—it’s been “let’s see how 2023-2024 goes” from the AD for a good while now.haie said:

He’s old. He’s getting increasingly frustrated. He may retire voluntarily if they suck again this year. If they suck and he doesn’t, he’ll strongly be encouraged to hang it up. -
Utah is staggeringly worse on the road. Somehow their little MW stadium has become the hardest place to play in the conference. It's weird.WoolleyDoog said:
