Watched The Boys in the Boat last night - good movie for a Doog, loved how Cal had to help pay for the trip. Too many swaztikas for my blood - peace and harmony
I know there is a separate thread but am too lazy to look
-
I can already see it getting shitty. Tea Leoni an Garry Shandling episode was the writing on the wall. And the Kathy Griffin confirmed it. But I am a completist so I will carry on. Just a bit slower.
-
It's obvious they were having a hard time keeping it going with a straight face. 7 seasons is usually too many. 9 is just being stubborn.
-
I Saw the TV Glow
There's definitely parts that were great and the general idea, if you ignore the messaging, was very unique. Enjoyable if you're a millennial/Gen Z. Everyone else will hate it for the message alone.
-
Watched Raise the Titanic last night. I wouldn’t recommend it but I’d watched it as a kid and it’s on Prime so I watched it for nostalgia.
-
The Devil's Brigade - damn good WW2 movie. Kind of the first special forces guys.
The true story is a good read https://warfarehistorynetwork.com/article/what-the-devils-brigade-did-in-world-war-ii/

Manhunter.
Better than Red Dragon. Cast much, much better for almost all characters.
-
The killer and the lead guy were the biggest differences in my memory. Red Dragon just threw a couple of big names at it and I never bought in to either character.
-
Gregory Peck in Po'Chop Hill - disgustingly reflects a political war, fighting over nothing. Good movie. No tits, lots of hand grenades, heavy artillery, and blood and guts.
Another one where when reading the true story about the battles was amazingly accurate.
Wiki's description of the battle: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Pork_Chop_Hill

40 Year Old Virgin.
This Apatow flick definitely held up better than Superbad.
-
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. A few generations into the future after Caesar. If you like the ape movies, then it is for you. And the ending allows for more ape against human movies.
District 9. One of those movies that sucks you and you have to complete it.
-
District 9 kicks ass
-
Went to the actual theater and saw Deadpool 3 (Wolverine). It had its moments. General plot was meh.
Can't seem to remember what I saw on the plane.
Latest season of Game of Thrones prequel show ended last night. Not a bad season. Highlights were tits, and dragons eating shitty poor people.

Started For Those about to Die on the cock. Anthony Hopkins plays the Emperor who is building the Los Angels Coliseum. The 4 factions that control the Circus Maximus are not happy that the Emperor is giving the Coliseum to the people
Its a 2024 look at Rome so be prepared for women to be strong and the dudes to be gay or morons. It is what it is
Episode 1 is a chariot race at Circus Maximus that looks like Ben Hur only worse. Probably shouldn't have gone there
I'll probably keep watching since it is Rome. That's the only reason. Hopkins looks like he's about to die
-
Basically a setup episode with almost no action and then you'll just have to wait til end of 2025 at the earliest to see what happens next.
Now we get a Penguin spin-off that no one asked for.
What the fuck good is HBO for nowadays? The play to become a full streaming platform with lazy documentaries and original content taking a backseat has backfired on them horribly. They should be begging the Tokyo Vice/Mare of Easttown creators to come back.
-
The Throbber likes more dragons but, honestly, no fucking idea what is going on in that show. Fell asleep during a couple episodes early.
-
Challengers. Pretty good. I wasn't a fan of Zendaya but her character in this made me lol a few times.
Also, the score in this movie was really, really good.
-
Took another step back in time for a comedy - Monty Python's The Meaning of Life - funny as hell - nothing is sacred in comedy back in those days
Good movie for 1982? maybe 83? Tits, Sex, diversity, drag, you name it and it is there. and it's a musical, kind of.
-
Streamed 'Knox Goes Away' on Max. Michael Keaton (Starring and directing) and Al Pacino give solid performances in this one, I enjoyed it.
-
Were you entertained then ?
LA Coliseum made me laff.
-
Watched Darkest Hour, Churchill was a bad ass. Made me crave a cigar so bad I got one (a Churchill Romeo & Julietta, of course) upon arrival to our hotel.
Finally saw Boys in the Boat, loved it (so did Mrs Fish), Bow Down to the Row Peter Puffers…
Nine hours on an airplane is no bueno…
-
Presumed Innocent in essentially two sittings counts as a movie. Great. What HBO is lacking right now. Excellent acting from all the main characters.
Trap tonight at a shitty little theater. Looking forward to it.
-
Darkest Hour is great. Boys in the Boat is fine, but nothing special. I'll take the FREE PUB all day long though.
-
@haie have your seen this before? Watched last night for the 1st time in Prime/Paramount and wondering if this is in your wheelhouse.
-
I've seen both. But saw the sequel after the first one which is highly praised.
I'm a huge Emily Blunt fan. The Fall Guy was pretty good that had her in it as well.
-
Trap
First half is a thriller. Second half is a comedy. Maybe the entire thing is a comedy.
-
When Ky Ebright cut that check, I teared up, for real…
-
People forget that Uncle Ky was a DAWG for life! Ask @RaceBannon
-
Deadpool today + Aliens Romulus tomorrow 🌈🍺💦💦
-
Is this like comic book stuff?
