Sam is more gifted than DMo, but both guys are not tough guys. Sam has still not hit puberty.

Penix is so good because he's genuinely not scared of anything on the football field. (Also really talented obv.)

That's why he will look off guys, etc. He's not freaking out waiting for his primary target to be open and staring him down.

Penix obviously has that intangible that UW hasn't seen since Price (at times) and Tui, where they see the field well and have a feel for where and when the pressure is coming.

It doesn't hurt that he's hardly been pressured at UW and only hit once or twice on drop backs through three games. Huard and Morris have never had that benefit in a UW uniform.

I don't recall a Husky scheme that worked in years

Usually a bunch of motion and shifts leads to false starts

Disciplined and it gets guys open

    Doog it up

This is exactly what I said on the podcast. Under Pete they'd start motioning guys around and you almost wanted to look away because you knew there would be an illegal shift or a muffed snap coming.

This is a good point. UW has been great in pass pro thus far.

However, Penix has already suffered devastating injuries in his career and he really doesn't seem to care. I think he's just a different guy.

    We beat a 6-6 Big Ten team! We're going 10-2!! 🙄

We beat a team that won an NY6 and returned everyone

Also beat a team with a historically bad secondary that might have a worse pass defense than Kent State. They cant run the ball and rely on a basketball player to bail out their shitty QB.

MSU is clearly not that good, even if beating them with relative ease was good.

They are closer to a 6-6 team than they are to a NY6 team this year.
I remember my thinking beating a not that good MSU team with relative ease was still a good thing phase

I wonder if anyone in Palo Alto cares enough to notice that 10/year has been an embarrassing money furnace for them the past 4-5 years.

I remember Shaw bitched the most about the early signing period and how it was going to be harder for him to get talent in there because of that.

We always drop one in CA or AZ. I don’t see a reason why that changes this year

I'm kind of glad they have another road game next week. We can see if the staff adjusts and gets them ready on the road or they'll look like a UW in the desert team like usual

UW at Ucla looked like it usually does so no reason to think the same won’t happen in the desert.

(I like to say “in the desert” when referencing games played in Arizona.)
