And for those (including our head coach) who thinks the 22 million dollar salary cap solves NIL it does not it any way shape of form.
NIL will still be part of the game outside the cap.
Fish will get another year, but that's all of this continues… no DJ comparisons forthcoming
The only thing missing from all this is the circa 2003 / 2004 chestnut
"Coach X did not throw one block on the line yesterday" where X is Gilby or Fish
This season has turned out almost exactly like I predicted in August, except that I didn't expect to beat Michigan and I didn't expect to be this disappointed in Fisch's performance. I fully expected a super talented running back to be struggling to find creases, and I expected our transfer QB to be running for his life.
Deboar had no interest in negotiating. It was well known in the yacht club (which has many school admin and AD members). The school reached out and was willing to pay well over what Bama is paying him now but he wouldn’t even take a seat with them. Remember the comments about how, “we’ll work it out later” etc. etc. his plan the entire time was to bolt. He viewed us as a stepping stone and that was it. Had nothing to do with an admin low ball
we are in a rebuild, scrap the 1 year rental and start building for the future.
I like bruener and I appreciate him sticking around, but he looks better because the rest of UW’s LBs are trash. Most of his tackles are four or five yards downfield.
He’s a poor man’s Cody Barton.
UW needs to find some studs to play linebacker — guys with Bruener’s grit but with more speed and quicker decision making.
Rolo is better than Fisch.
