Your average legacy newsroom is a collection of angry, partisan little children looking to capitalize on their own NIL to enhance their social media profiles. It’s where you make their money in today’s “journalism”, unless you’re a national anchor with your own show. Drive ratings. Go for clicks. Increase followers on socials. It’s why all of these carnival barkers still have profiles on Elon’s bird app while they publicly call him a Nazi on MSNBC.
Joy Reid is a racist and batshit crazy but there’s a reason she keeps saying these absurdly incendiary things on her pod and her socials. It drives clicks. It makes her money. It turns off the majority of viewership which is why the cable news bosses got rid of her, but she’s created her awful little niche and now she needs to lean into it or die from a monetization perspective. Simple minded people like @DucksFC and @HuskyBuck lick the content up like puppies and crumbs on the floor. Anyone with a functioning brain laughs at what journalism is these days.

It is hard to imagine Nebraska ever being a power again. There is no reason they can’t hire a good coach, recruit develop, and pay for quality in the portal, but that’s a truly dead brand.
