The rebuild at UW wouldn't have been nearly as much of a climb had DeBoer not left. UW's starting interior OL transferred, Germie Bernard transferred, so did Josh Cuevas, and so did some starters in the secondary. UW would have plugged a few more holes, won 7 or 8 games in 2024, and then Austin Mack would be starting for 2025.

I believe Sprinkle will get UW to the tournament eventually and have similar success as Romar making the big dance. It will be difficult to match Romar’s success with Seattle studs playing multiple years and a couple deep runs and a #1 seed.

Those Romar teams with Roy and IT led squads were fun during March especially when we were in the wilderness during the dark football years.

I think firing Lake for the Ruperake incident shows how badly Cohen and UW wanted to fire Lake. It really wasn’t that bad and the incident itself was overblown. Losing to Montana was much worse.

I’m very glad it happened. Lake was absolutely terrible and put in no effort. He’s a pretty good DB coach and terrible as a coordinator and head coach.
