Now with a hard cap of $22 million next year (and real NIL marketing deals going through a legitimate clearing house), it will be much harder for Ohio State and Oregon to buy guys from relatively well-resourced programs. Going into the 2024 season and somewhat into 2025 (the new rules started July 1st), it was the wild west and money was flowing like a cabs that drink like merlots.
For instance, after July 1st, Oregon lost multiple 4 star recruits because the promises of rich NIL deals were no longer deliverable. They lost Kodi Greene to UW, a DT or two to USC, and maybe another guy.
