Re: The Fisching Report Recruiting Thread Sponsored by The Fisch Bowl
Lavender from a TBS perspective was arguably our lowest rated DB recruit I believe
Could be a sign that there may be a better play in play
Could be a sign that Fisch is heading to LA
Could be non of the above
Who knows

Re: Anybody notice the growing trend of coaches getting axed in October?
Agreed.
What I loved about the job he did at Stanford is that he came up with a type of plan and formula that could work with the constraints they have, and leaned in hard.
The contrast in style they played with, while maybe not as exciting as some, was beautifully different and they ran it to great effect.
I used to love watching them grind down the Oregon teams of the era.
Slash & Dash & hyper tempo? Ha!
Here's some power run and TE's coming up your ass for 3 straight hours Ducky…

Objectively, how can you say (post NIL and Portal) WA is a perennial top 20 program? All time? Absolutely. Last 30 years? Absolutely. What have you done for me lately (outside losing a top 5 coach)? Nothing close to top 20. Sorry, I know that's harsh but, as a fan since '84, we're? shit.

Re: The Mariners are Going to the World Series
Wilson is slavish to "the plan". He has been holding Munoz for the 9th all season, ignoring that the most critical "high leverage" situations often happen before that. The situation Bazardo walked into was sure as hell THE high leverage moment in that game. Put out that fire still in the lead and their odds of winning would've been very high and he had almost the entire staff available for the 9th..

If he’s a willing tackler a 5’10” 235 lbs LB that used to be a running back filling running lanes sounds pretty good to me.

Re: Napier out at Florida
ESPN this morning had Fisch and Kiffin as the two guys they should go after.

Re: The Mariners are Going to the World Series
That was definitely another option. Munoz could have gotten through the thick part of the lineup in the 7th and 8th and, even if he can't throw in the 9th, you're looking at the bottom of the order and can bring in Brash or Miller, etc to close it out.
Listening to KJR this morning, I agree with the Chuck and Buck takes which was that clearly Wilson had a scripted plan for using the pitching staff and he didn't think outside the box about how to adjust or deviate at all. He stuck to the script.
Bigger issue I have is that the M's lineup was just plain and simple not as good as Toronto. The offense is what lost the series.

Re: Hugh Millen this morning…
I’m sure he was crushed when Huard got a scholarship from UW and his son didn’t, I would be too. Although I dought Hugh rooted against Huard or wanted him to flame out as he did here, as a proud papa I’m sure he smiled inside for a moment although he would never admit.
Hugh was qb the one time I visited Michigan for a UW road game in our what should have been natty season. Yes I’ll die on the hill. #BoWdoWn!
Re: Hugh Millen this morning…
He goes to practices when he’s in town still so he’s still welcome. I don’t think their personalities mesh well. Hugh said Judd was a little smug in their interactions while Judd took over for Sumlin and Klay was still committed there. Klay is a backup at Florida right now

Re: Can we discuss the phantom stat "rushes"
I've relaxed a shade on Durfee he's not hurting us and it's not his fault he got hyped. A solid rotation guy amongst other ok rotation guys. Having said that I might like Lynch playing a bit more than him
