we know Franklin’s ceiling. If that’s good enough for you, fuck off

Re: Franklin for Fisch?
at no point was it apparent UW could win that game … it was apparent they would do whatever it takes to lose when one of the Hatchetts false started on the first drive, then the ensuing punt went into the end zone with a Husky in perfect position to down it inside the 5 if he knew what the fuck he was doing.
The 7-7 tie at half was just because Michigan is shitty enough to keep UW in the game.
This was a cripple fight. Both teams are retarded.

Re: The Hardcore Husky Podcast: If Cignetti was a grand slam hire, Fisch was a fielder's choice*
I wouldn't say UW came out of thin air. The program went to the CFP, the Rose Bowl, and Fiesta Bowl under CP. He retired, they took a step back under Jimmy Fake (4-8), then DeBoer went 11-2 in his first year and 14-0 in his 2nd, beating Texas (again) before playing Michigan in the NC.
Fisch is pretty savvy with his career and 2026 is the key year for everyone involved. He'll either do well and leave for the NFL (most likely), get extended (less likely), or get fired and cash out (somewhat likely). The 2026 team should be talented and deep enough to win 9 or 10 regular season games (assuming they have the funds to bring in a LT, DT, Edge, and possibly a RB & TE).
As for up and coming coaches, Spencer Danielson and Jimmy Rogers are on my list.

I can't name the next Cignetti.
A. He wasn't on anyone's radar when hired at IU, at least not that I recall.
B. Luckily it's not my job 😂
C. Not sure we'd want anyone I would come up with anyhow. If we'd listened to me, we would have gone with Matt Campbell or Dave Aranda or something instead of Kalen. 🤣

Re: How did we?
No argument here!
I think we bought a questionable product with Jedd.
His one HC gig was AZ and we bought the restoration and 1 year pop he had. There's no shame in that, in my view. With incomplete data, this sometimes happens and we were in a tough spot getting surprise dumped and roster raided by Kalen.
I'm still open to being optimistic if they surprise down the stretch here.
For me that would need to be going 9-3 … would prefer to shock Oregon, but realistically that's a loss, but it needs to be a game in the 4th Q.
If they are truly showing progress, they need to win all the other games.

what’s the best school to work concessions at?

Very fair .. I just think we should keep reasonably high expectations, and we ARE a desirable job, is what I was mainly getting at. 👍
I find Seattle has too much soft loser mentality that can show up in various sections of the fanbases in town.

I have no doubt I just don’t remember it personally.
Also the timeline didn’t sync up with our job opening up anyhow.

Re: Anybody notice the growing trend of coaches getting axed in October?
This is the NFL jr now. You don’t get a decade to establish relationships and build a practice regimen. The right guy will figure it out immediately. There are probably 6, generously speaking, programs who don’t need the right guy and maybe 10 coaches on earth who are actually good at this. Once you’ve identified you aren’t one of those 6 programs and don’t have one of those 10 guys you move on.

Re: Predict final w/L record post Oregon. Be serious and no malarkey
UW will not lose to both Illinois and UCLA. 9-3 is more likely than 7-5.
