Still need to see DeBoer identify, recruit and develop a QB. He’s never been anywhere long enough to do it. That said, the 12 and possibly 16 team playoff works to his advantage. As Haie said, he can kick 2-3 games to shitty teams every year, as he’s consistently done in 4/5 seasons as a D1 head coach and still get into the tournament. Once he’s in the tournament though, I imagine he’ll be a tough out.

I get the recruiting part, but his staff definitely developed haener and penix. He wasn't taking players everyone wanted and just coasting. In fact one could say he developed penix twice.
