Re: Hardcore Husky Podcast: When your head coach is the team's weakest link
Excellent catharsis pod, in particular all the commentary about the sport overall at this point.
I'm really having a hard time adjusting and staying interested.
I've watched the least amount of college football this year of my entire life, Dawgs or otherwise.

Re: 8-4
And I’m not sure UW belongs in the same tier as Iowa, all their losses were close unlike Judd.
@haie, the tiers are in this moment, not looking historically or anything else.
Re: Jonathan Smith’s couch sold
Pat Fitzgerald hired to replace him the same fucking day.
I can't recall a coach getting fired and replaced by an outsider in less than 24 hours.

Re: Demond
When he runs he has two linebackers waiting for him 4 yards down field. They are waiting there because when he steps up he’s basically running 90% of the time. They aren’t worried about him throwing when he on the move. The great running qb’s can pump fake 4 yards over the line of scrimmage and pick up an extra 10.

Re: Demond
With all due respect, this is some disingenuous cherry picking. How about asking me what UW's record is this season with DeBoer coaching Fisch's current roster?

Re: The program will take a step forward next year
Indiana (w/ Coach Whisperer Ciganetti) is L until proven otherwise
Ditto at Oregon
Penn State w/ their 10-15k fans will look like their 2022/2023/2024 team versus this years who quit on Franklin. I would lean 65-35% loss
Here's the swing games next year with 2 of them on road
As long as Kurt F and his DC are at Iowa that D will keep us in the teens. Can our Defense match that? I'd feel better if we could get more turnovers than we do,
At SC: Gun to head Loss b/c their O and playmakers at wr will score enough but a complete tbd at this point
At Nebraska: Later in year is better as they seem to fade under Ruhle, but then you run risk of WIsconsin weather event which I want no part of. No matter when hits on Calendar there will be 90k dressed in red or black there to make a difference for Husker Nation. They will be favored to win b/c playing at home.
To take next step Jedd has to win at least two of them which puts us at that Big Ten Middling Middle 8-4 again. If he's the guy he needs three, but when you lose 8 starters, maybe Denzel, and then whatever portal attrition/injuries that seems like a big ask/jump/expectation

Re: The program will take a step forward next year
Fish won’t be an NFL head coach but maybe an OC. His offense would work fine in the NFL where everyone is basically the same talent level. His route concepts, tempo, lack of taking advantage of the college hashes and the incessant huddling up just don’t fly when there is a massive talent disparity like he has on his offensive line and WR. Pete Carrol could do it at USC, Saban at Bama because they had the best dudes in the country. He won’t score against teams with great defensive talent unless he can somehow recruit/develop the requisite talent to be at least near even or even with them. I think he’ll acquire enough talent to score on the Wisconsin and Iowa types, maybe even Oregon but probably not OSU, Georgia or LSU. He needs a college offense to mitigate that kind of talent gap but he’s just too stubborn.

Re: 8-4
The "B1G Tier" stuff is stupid as fuck and means nothing when an old JMU coach shoots the historical cripple straight up to Ohio State's level in year 1 and 2.

Re: Playoff chaos
Move to 16 teams and then the debate will be about which shitty 9-3 teams deserve to be in our out.
College football does not have anything close enough to an even playing field to be wasting time with a #1 (at home) vs #16 team. It will be a bunch of trash blowout games.
The power brokers and TV networks are going to drive the sport off of a cliff.
