Re: OFFICIAL Washington vs. Illinois Game Thread
Criminally underchinned. Gifted writing. I was hooked three words in, making me think, "Isn't the game here? Let me read on."
I laffed.
Re: Husky Jacks open thread [2025]
Read what you just typed…Softy.
When Fish met his wife he lived in Houston and she lived in Dallas…pay me $7 million a year and I’ll live in Saudi and fly back to see my family.
I’m under no illusion about him leaving…just no way he’s dumb enough to leave for UCLA. They’ll get a coordinator or a Group of 5 head coach. If it’s something else it will be a retreat desperately trying to revive his career…James Franklin or Jimbo Fisher type. Gonna be a crazy offseason though. Half expecting the Texas job to open up.
Fish strikes me as a really good CEO coach and an eh actual coach. Hasn’t beaten anyone he shouldn’t have, but he’s slowly building up the roster in a very good way. In comparison to DeBoer who is a generational actual coach but a below average CEO. Moving to Alabama was smart for him. Generational coaches are really good at both, but not many of them around.
Funny thing is the NFL has GMs and all that which build the roster…Fish moving up to the NFL will likely expose him as an average coach. Have to be careful what you wish for.

Re: A Hardcore Husky O.G. sells the couch
When I wrote the obit for @DeLarry in 2020, I posted a photo of him. Before I could blink, I received a PM from Damone saying if he ever died to not show his photo.

Doxxing the dearly departed, a Hardcore Husky tradition like no other!
Andrew was a quirky guy no doubt and I had some fun interactions with him in real life, the most notable of which was an early April ski day at Mt Bachelor in 2022. Pawz was first and right on DeBoer and while riding up the Pine Marten chair, he guaranteed me that the Dutchman would win big at UW. Can confirm that Pawz was a great skier.
Saw him for lunch a few summers later post cancer diagnosis - his mom had a place in Sunriver - and he looked like hell, but was in good spirits and was fighting the good fight. Fuck cancer as the old saying goes.
Rest in peace, Pawz.

Re: Mississippi State 31, Texas 14
What an utter collapse. I watched most of the 4th and the OT. It was a complete implosion. Even as MSU lined up for 4th down in the OT, they had back-to-back illegal procedures to make it 4th and 20… and they were at home!
