They definitely did blow together with Sean and Jacob doing lines togetherdougthedawg said:Biggins:
McCoy's dad said they got in late last night but had a great time. Said they love coach Pete and the game atmosphere was great as well. We'll catch up with McCoy later today/tonight for a full trip recap.
A few more notes here, pops said Sean McGrew and Jacob Eason were Bru's hosts and showed him a great time. They played late Friday night and he didn't even get to sleep before heading to the airport Saturday morning. Then got about 3 hours of sleep Saturday night and another full day of activities Sunday. This quote stood out for me, "Petersen has built an unreal culture of great football players and better young men. UW is one of the few programs out West that has the resources and coaching to compete for a National Championship."
Wiltfong:
Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei five-star athlete Bru McCoy took his second official visit to Washington over the weekend.
"Coach Petersen is on a different level," his father Horace McCoy tells 247Sports on Tuesday. "Not only does he have a great culture, high-character kids/coaches. He cares about them as men. Every day they spend time on working on being better young men and not just football players. As a father that is most important to me. My son is more than just a football player. Football will end one day, hopefully no time soon, and when it does I want a better man when the game is done. Coach Petersen has left no doubt in our minds in his ability to achieve that goal." -
I shouldn't get my hopes up, but I am dooging after that report.

Tell those guys on the usc boreds. They love being reminded that they could have crushed the west coast for two decades or until Peterman retired.UDubHusky23 said:
God could you imagine if Petersen took the USC job.... recruiting would have been on another level for himDomicillo said:Petersen to USC confirmed.
Thanks be to Allah to Saint Haden. -
I know he wants to play WR and he's a very good one, but Smalls and McCoy at Buck/Sam, a bunch of huge Poly's on the DL, and the loaded secondary that we are guaranteed to have would be a championship level defense.

I have managed to stay completely realistic about our zero chance at this kid until these comments from his dad.
Now I’m going to be broken when he goes to USC like I knew he would all along.
Damn this hopeless doog inside of me. -
I imagine him being a two way player if by some miracle UW lands him

To give myself some credit, though, it's because it just makes no sense to me why these kids would choose to go to USC. I get family, location, etc. This isn't fuck around at practice as a little kid time any more, though. This is about your LIFE, and hopefully, your JOB. Why would you CHOOSE that record of proven underperformance and unsettled coaching situation when this is your LIVELIHOOD in question?
The other day there was a thread talking about Myles Murao, the great OG prospect from Mater Dei. "Yeah, too bad he's going to USC" was the wrap-up. WHY?!? Quick quiz: How many guards has USC had go in the NFL draft in the last TEN years? Answer: ZERO. Not one. Why the fuck, if you are a guard, would you put your future in the hands of people that couldn't get one fucking guy drafted at your position in the last ten years?! (Probably includes at least one 5-star and ten 4-star prospects, by the way).
Know how many running backs USC has had go in the first two days of the NFL draft the last ten years? One. A 2nd-rounder. This is "tailback U" where they've probably had several 5-star guys recruited in that time frame.
To be fair, they have some success with WRs. But not enough. Guys like JuJu and Robert Woods are doing great in the NFL. So why were they 2nd-round draft picks? They have all these 5-star recruits. 5-star recruits should be turned into 2nd-rounders, they should be 1st-rounders. At USC guys basically stumble their way into the draft and then the NFL finds out if they can play or not.

I've been told that Christobol pride's himself on having the talent to compete for championships. -
USC getting the last visit is obviously a huge concern ... however, it definitely comes across that UW hit a lot of marks to compare things against.
The fifth visit I get the impression he either may not take it isn’t a realistic option as it’s just up in the air ... whoever that would be would have a ton of ground to make up.
SC is the home school and likely the standard that you have to beat.
Texas has the name but one thing that keeps coming up is the desire to compete for championships. Not sure they are there in terms of coach or talent.
Bama is Bama but you’ve got the whole distance thing and assuming that the whole academic thing matters ... Bama isn’t great in that regard.
Which brings everything back to UW ... telling to me is that there’s the comment that UW is one of the few schools on the West Coast that can compete nationally ... Pete scored points on the OKG and Built For Life area (particularly with the patents ... Pete vs Helton is a comical mismatch) ... the overall environment should compare well to SC and probably an eye opener ... getting player testimonials looks to be a positive ... QB talent like Eason (and beyond) will help as real knows real (also true for our DBs)
Yes, SC will still be difficult to beat but we’ve probably moved from being in the wrong weight class to having a puncher’s chance at worst -
Serious question for the smart croot types. Who is better, Ngata or Bru?

Assuming this is adressed to the TSIO guys, but I'll weigh in:Swaye said:Serious question for the smart croot types. Who is better, Ngata or Bru?
On offense, it's Joe. It's not a big difference though. They're both top-10 guys nationally. -
So basically pretty much a wash. Gracias.NorwegianHusky said:

USC is Bru's blonde dime piece he is supposed to marry. She's looks perfect, comes from a great family, it's arranged, the date is set.
But we're her brunette best friend (she respects us) that just gets Bru better.
When the 3 of us go out it gets awkward because the server thinks he's dating us.
Follow your heart Bru!! -
"With Eason as the quarterback, there is a lot of upside to going there. He said he wants to win a championship and wants players like me who are winners to come in and play with him. I know he’s a very talented player and you obviously always want to have a great quarterback who can get you the ball and I really enjoyed talking with him and hearing his perspective on things."
