The press also has an interest in prolonging the Mueller probe. Russiagate is good for business, mesmerizing viewers with a grand political spectacle featuring one of the media’s biggest draws for the last several decades—Donald Trump, the boss villain who is now in the White House. Maybe most prominent among the interested media organizations is the paper that has colluded with lawbreakers in publishing the names of US persons whose identities have been illegally leaked by intelligence officials and political operatives—the Washington Post.

Coincidentally, the owner of the Post also has a major stake in letting Mueller do his work to preserve America’s surveillance and spying complex. In 2013, the same year that Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos bought the paper that broke Watergate for $250 million, Amazon Web Services landed a $600 million deal with the US intelligence community. According to a 2017 Washington Post story, AWS created a “cloud storage service designed to handle classified information for U.S. spy agencies,” including the CIA. The cloud technology was to “usher in a new era of cooperation and coordination, allowing agencies to share information and services much more easily.”

And now some intelligence and data experts believe that the CIA cloud is how the Obama administration could have minimized its trail after unmasking US persons. ......

Presumably, the owner of Amazon is not eager to have Amazon customers see that the company with their credit card data and buying and viewing habits on file may have facilitated the US government’s spying on American citizens to advance a campaign of political warfare.

Its like crack. Credit where it is due. The washer broke down and I'm looking on line and all the local stores and even the big boxes had all this confusing bullshit about free deliver that wasn't available and shit

Two or three clicks on the Amazon app and I have a washer showing up Friday morning.

    Give the devil his due

Yeah, I hate Bezos personally, and Amazon on principle, but I am not naive to the fact that in 10 years it will be Amazon or bust, unless you just hate money and want to pay double. Fuck. Cannot believe how much shit on eBay is actually Amazon now. I guess it is just resellers on eBay who take your order and then order it even cheaper off Amazon and ship it to you. LOL. Fucking assholes.

Aside...I was reading (barely) an article just a few weeks ago that WalMart has gotten serious about their online arm and are actually making a dent in Amazon. Not sure if true or fake news, but interesting nonetheless. WalMart is probably the only retailer in the world with enough muscle to go after the online space against Amazon. Bezos just crushed everyone else.

I like that Best Buy does free hook up. I'm always too drunk to hook up a washer. I'd flood the trailer.

My buddy ordered a poker table from Walmart, shipped to his house for $179. Was $230 on Amazon. So there's that.

I hate Bezos. When the stores are all gone and the workers lose their jerbs, how are they going to be able to buy shit on Amazon. A temporary convenience in exchange for a long term takeover of the economy, and control of your life. That piece of shit wants to control everything and sell everything until there is only one merchant left. Fuck that fucker.

What'll happen to poor ol' Mags Bennett and her general store once her customers start doing mail order from the Sears n' Robucks or worse still driving into the local Woolworth's?

Mags moved, changed her alias and runs a bail bonds shop now.

    Bezos turned even Mags.

Amazon is different. Sears never got into the grocery business. Or the shipping business. Or every single facet of what can possibly be bought and sold. You wouldn't recognize a monopoly if it stripped naked in front of you. You want your fucking groceries delivered to your doorstep because you're too fat and lazy to go to the store and never want to leave your room, ok. Just recognize the tradeoffs. Every advance that Amazon makes costs hundreds, thousands, tens of thousands of jobs. Your taxes will increase because the people who lost their jobs will be going on the government dole. You save a little money now, you pay more later. All for the temporary convenience. It benefits only one person: that fuckeyed prick Bezos, who makes $1,100 per second scamming you long term.

It's funny. I try to avoid Amazon like the plague. Last three things I have bought on eBay all showed up drop shipped from Amazon Fulfillment Centers. FML. You cannot escape the evil empire.

Everything I've ever purchased from Amazon has been shit. Granted, we are talking minor low ticket items like clothing, phone cases and such. But I see no reason to purchase anything from them and the last thing would be a fucking washer.

Bitchfork is going to be upset when Bezos and his army of robots come for his Target job someday. Who needs shelf stackers when robots can do the work for free? He loses his job, then his credit cards get canceled because he can no longer afford to pay down the balance and interest on all that Todd Graham shit he bought from Amazon. Fuck. Then to top it all off, he can't even find a decent shirt or a pair of pants to wear for his job interview picking strawberries with the Messicans because there aren't any stores left to sell him a shirt & some pants because Amazon put them all out of business. What kind of fucking idiot buys their clothes online anyway?
