2016 Stanford is probably the most comprehensive asskicking of a quality opponent since the early 90s.bananasnblondes said:Last year was great, but the team was still far from Pete's ideal design. We relied a little too much on the Ross deep ball against shitty DBs. We killed WSU but benefitted from them repeatedly shitting the bed after moving the ball at will. The Zona, Utah, and SC (obviously) games showed that the team was far from the finished machine that Pete wants.
This year, we should be at the point where we can systematically break the will of opposing teams and destroy them. The Stanford game (minus the pass to Psalm) is the blueprint for what I want to see this year. -
As a fellow millennial doog, just the other day I was asking @Dennis_DeYoung how to go about having expectations for a 2nd year in a row?LoneStarDawg said:This season is going to be spectacular because this
communityhive of villainy is going to go full meltdown either because we? go undefeated and win it all, or we drop one and waste another 12 months of our doog lives.
in my miserable and pathetic millennial doog life I've never experienced a buildup like this, where my expectations can't be surpassed until January.
We are letting our raging doog-ons go to full mast, there is nothing to hold back. We are the beaten wife who said never again, then let Peterman into our lives, and now we're engaged and planning our wedding on January 8th. WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG?!
81% chance of a red wedding, 19% chance of blowing a huge 26-years-of-doog-blue-balls natty load
either way it will be spectacular
I know by looking at the schedule we can easily go 11-1 or 12-0. But in the back of my head, because I haven't seen success at this level for UW, I keep asking myself, "is it even possible to win 11 or more games two years in a row?" It feels so impossible to my millennial doog brain. -
Hope is not a strategy.
Arby's corporate told me that.

Might as well not even play the games this year.

Being a fan of a good team is miserable, because you don't enjoy the wins - you expect them. And losses are fucking heartbreaking.
I suppose it beats being a fan of a bad team, but not by much.
We are going to get run over this year anyway so it won't fucking matter.
Every last team on our schedule is looking for revenge except Montana and David Sirmon is probably going to do some weird shit to poison us on that one. I see @Owen12 on the horizon. -
Do we play Southern Cal? I'm too lazy to look it up.

The reason most people are losers in life is because it is easier to be a loser. Its easier to root for a loser. I spent the first 50 years of my life literally (right?) living and dying with the Husky Football team. I actually (right?) did not ever die following them.Dennis_DeYoung said:Being a fan of a good team is miserable, because you don't enjoy the wins - you expect them. When it became clear that we were fucking losers and intended to stay that way I could let go at last. If I saw the game live on TV fine, if not that's fine too. If they lost (again) why bother? Staying home watching great teams play kept me in love with college football.
I could get my Husky fix at a place like this talking shit about the DAWGS and the DAWG fans. I learned to welcome our duck overlords.
The Stanford and Oregon games got me interested again. Winning the Asian 12 conference got me on a plane to Atlanta.
Watching Jake throw that Pick 6 unleashed the Hounds of War within once again and I felt the familiar rage of defeat.
Now once again we don't want to fall on our fucking face. It won't be funny. We need 11 more in a row over Oregon. We need to lock down the North for a decade. We HAVE to win every week. Petermen has to beat the big boys and win a natty.
But Dennis is right - we won't. 4-8 at best. -
