Goss had 6 assists and 4 points. Gaddy would have had 2 assists and 3 points, ill take it.

This team won because they hit their free throws tonight, how many times in Romar's career can you say that?

I will say the team had more fluid ball movement than in teams past, Mike Anderson looks to be a solid defender and a rebounds/steals guy.

Anderson reminds Romar of Scott Suggs. SHIT

Yeah not sure what he's talking about, he's already a better ballhandler, passer and defender than Suggs ever was. Probably won't ever be the shooter that Suggs was.

I'm not sure Anderson is going to be good, but I'm sure he's better than Kim's Pickup All Star.

    This.

Actually Gaddy had 11 points and 5 assists against SU last year. #HiHoncho

  • I don't know how this team will be because they are missing three key bigs but I did like watching a UW team who could actually hit their FT's for once. That was a pleasant surprise.

I watched Aaron Gordon at McKale the other night and it was depressing watching him shoot, score, and block shots. On the other hand, he would have been a perfect big for Romar in that he missed his first 4 or 5 free throws.

I really enjoyed that game considering how horrid a start it was with Jerrau injured and Blackwell out. Really impressed with Anderson. When Johnson finished with the off hand for the and-1 I was close to BRB, JO stage. NWG's pass on that play was beautiful. Jury is out on him obviously. I've loved Andrews' game for a while, just his aggressiveness and physicality on defense. His shot didn't fall much last year but our guards have always developed well under Romar. Putting Wilcox on the top of the high post was a decidedly uncharacteristic brilliant coaching move by Romar. We went on a massive run after he did that. Mike Anderson went 12 pts/8 rebs/3 steals. The only guy who didn't really show me anything was Dieerrttyxasd. Losing the rebounding edge is embarrassing but I won't lose any sleep over it given the sudden dearth of big man depth and the fact that Romar's teams seem to consistently rebound well.

I guess I am more doogish on UW hoops than most here. Unlike Sark, Romar is an actual high character guy. While quite flawed, he's brought us championships, both regular season and tourney. I will always have a soft spot for him (and a forever mancrush on Isaiah) for helping alleviate the pain of the 0-12 football season in 2008. Isaiah came in as a true frosh, immediately was the vocal alpha dog, and willed that 2008-2009 bball team (the same team that was 16-17 the prior year with the same roster + him) to a conference championship. The first in like 50 years. That was my senior year and storming the court during that last WSU game was so fucking fun. Damn those teams were a joy to watch. Venoy terrorizing on D, Isaiah being Isaiah, Brockman being a beast, JD's resurgence, Quincy starting to realize his potential, Holiday's D, MBA missing point blank shots, Turner NCAA tourney heroics, Dawg Pack craziness, destroying our P10 opponents etc etc.

That said, he needs to make the NCAAs this year or I wouldn't object to his being let go.

Oh and it was hilarious watching Andrew talk mad shit to Umipig and then back it up. Kemp still seems...off. Is it conditioning? Mental? Sometimes he looks like he could be a total beast but he just disappears and there's no excuse for how poorly he rebounds.

Pretty much sums up my feelings though I always felt IT got too much credit for that first conference title. He was the third best player on that team.

Otherwise, great poast, agree with basically everything, including your feelings about Romar and analysis of his future.

Oh, and I lol'd at "MBA missing point blank shots".
