Sounds like he was offered the job at Seton Hall and USC previously. Turned them down. An LA guy originally. "Everyone is saying" he's a great recruiter and great developer of talent. But an assistant in one place for 21 years?

Hopkins has been the "coach" at Syracuse for a while now. He ran recruiting and game planning. Boeheim was the CEO/ figurehead. I like this hire unless he goes right back to Syracuse in 2 years.
