Pete lauds his OL Coach.
In answering the questions, Pete was obviously directing his comments toward some specific people.

I think Strausser is a good OL coach. I think he sucks as a recruiter. In moast programs good coaches who can't recruit get picked up by good regional recruiters, but in Pete's program it seems if you can't recruit your position no one does. Not sure what the solution is, but Strausser's clearly done good work with the talent at hand.

Well, if the helicopter ride is any indication, my sense is that Pete is personally trying to assist with OL recruiting.dnc said:I think Strausser is a good OL coach. I think he sucks as a recruiter. Pretty sure that was directed at Fozzy.

Glad the staff hasn't given up.Dennis_DeYoung said:Pretty sure that was directed at Fozzy.
It might be too little too late, but this season couldn't have possibly broken better to give us a shot at him. -

Also, I think we need to include a trigger warning for the pussies of @RoadDawg55 and others that have struggled to adjust to the idea that football and recruiting sometimes overlap.

Take it easy man, he is still coming to grips with being Asian.Dennis_DeYoung said:Also, I think we need to include a trigger warning for the pussies of @RoadDawg55 and others that have struggled to adjust to the idea that football and recruiting sometimes overlap.

Yeah but assistants recruit areas, not what they coach. Isn't that recruiting 101? Pete is the closer. Stausser or whatever (if we win the natty I'll learn their names) has coached up some bags of shit. If we want better recruits the whole staff and the closer have to do it

I thought that was the case too, but it seems like every DB recruit we've gotten has been Jimmy Lake's responsibility, and likewise with other recruits (Hamdan comes in and all of a sudden we can recruit WR's).RaceBannon said:Yeah but assistants recruit areas, not what they coach. It seems the position coach has more to do with positional recruiting in Pete's program than the traditional college model.
Or maybe it's classic confirmation bias?
