1. Lincoln
2. Roosevelt

What a great time to be alive, with all of the history we are seeing.

One of these is not like the others

I recall at the time that the article on Lincoln had little effect on the election

OZONE under traditional campaigns this would be exciting news for you. However, for this campaign media endorsements may actually have the opposite effect you think it has.

See my earlier response in the other thread. I don't think the endorsements affect the voting, I think they predict it.

How many outlets endorsed Trump in the primary?

My point being: This isn't your typical election rodeo.

Trump's base was enough to win him the (R) nomination. That is all.

I say Clinton wins the big event rather easily... say 365 electoral college votes to 173

No I'm not saying that. That would be spin from the Trump camp, that knows he is going to get his shit pushed in by a woman that has a larger cock than he does.

If you want to call working to get the US out of the great depression, while also helping the free world fight off Nazism -- selfish, that is your choice.

By the way, Trump dislike's cripples too. Nice company you are keeping.

Fighting Nazism and the Japanese in World War II got us out of the great depression. They were one in the same, not one separate from the other.

They were separate, at least, in that one fight started before the other. I don't disagree that WW2 had a huge impact on getting us out of the depression, but they started as separate efforts, and the fact that they were so intertwined doesn't change Roosevelt's accomplishments.

Bullshit! He banged so many women, even Kennedy couldn't catch up with him. Eleanor was a dyke, and ole FDR had his pole-smoking mistress living at the white house for awhile. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

He got a lot of New Deal programs passed into law, to protect American jobs and create Social Security. Most of those have been repealed or neutered with the bipartisan support of Democrats, who claim to support American workers, but don't. And when Social Security gets raided, which it will, Democrats will support the effort, no matter what they say today.

In this thread: right wing Nazi sympathizers that blame Roosevelt for bringing us closer to communism. I have some distant cousins in Montana that loved John Birch and agree with you guys and like to call Roosevelt the guy that destroyed amerika.

And 10 years after the war, we raised taxes to 90% top tax rate to pay for the war.

No it isn't. Congress borrowing from Social Security is the problem, and financially illiterate people who refuse to raise the retirement age, given the 10+ year increase in life-expectancy since the 1930's.

So that explains your shrill tone and reactionary politics. I knew self-hatred was in your roots, and now I know where. Thanks for sharing.

All that needs to happen to fix SS is to remove the cap at which incomes are taxed.

So, as always, the answer is "raising taxes."

Wrong. Very wrong. Seriously, Ozone, where does your undying faith in big government come from? Have you studied any history of Social Security? Or do you just read HuffPo? When it runs a surplus, congress borrows from it and doesn't pay it back. This happens when people like yourself endorse everything big government does, only to realize, way too late, that you can't trust people who won't be there when it comes time to pay the tab. Are you fine with 50 trillion in national debt? Or twice that? B. Clinton finally ran a budget surplus, Bush gave it all away in tax cuts endorsed by Greenspan, then Obama - BREAKING HIS CAMPAIGN PROMISES - made those tax cuts permanent, despite conducting two wars.

Why do you think democrats aren't lying whores just like the R's you hate? Why are you so worried and dependent upon an HRC victory to be hysterically posting about it several times a day, every day? What are you afraid of?

Actually Obama didn't make those tax cuts permanent. Extended some of them through about 2011 such as the SS tax cut. But the taxes on the wealthy went back up to 39.6% during Obama's tenure.

And every scenario is different, but for SS, with the baby boomers, unless we get significant increase in people in the country, SS will need a tax increase our a reduction of benefits to be solvent. Would you prefer to increase taxes on those making over $118k a year? Or cut benefits to our seniors?

Reality is politicians on both sides are not willing to do either.
