Bargain couch season is quickly approaching

To me, these guys are the most likely:
Lundquist or Carta
Derpin Turpin
Connor O'Brien
Deontae Cooper
Brandon Lewis (too many cb's and he's at the bottom of the pile)
Psalm (probably wishful thinking)
Crane (rumor is he'll medically retire)
Who else?

Dwayne Washington.... Judging by his social medias I think he may already be off the team.

Not seeing anything one way or other myself, but in general it feels that way.CokeGreaterThanPepsi said:Dwayne Washington.... Judging by his social medias I think he may already be off the team.

I'm also thinking Constantine is gone because BBK will supplant him as Azeem's backup.
Also, on second thought, Cooper stays but Lavon Coleman leaves (he's useless). That other small RB might leave too if McGrew is an instant upgrade. -
Brandon Beaver maybe. Hurt right?

Cooper is likely the #2 RB and I don't see him seeing a couch.bananasnblondes said:Sounds like we are hoping to take a few more guys this year and next year UW has room for like 11 commits. Who can we get to put their furniture up on craigslist so we can bring in more of those teen boys and their stars?

Lumpquist is probably happy at UW even if he's the back up.
Crane and Turpin have done nothing since arriving and are the most likely furniture salesmen on the list. I'd love to say good-bye to Wutang. -
LOL at "KingBeaver"
And D Warsh is free to go. The guy sucks for how big and athletic he is. Pad level too high, can't read a hole, etc. -
Didn't he have a kid right before season started?CokeGreaterThanPepsi said:Dwayne Washington.... Judging by his social medias I think he may already be off the team.

If beaver is injured and not there that points to him not being around. Joyner had an acl tear and is still with the team.
-
Even Curtis Williams made it to the Rose Bowl. If you're on the team or even vaguely associated with the team you go to the bowl game
-
Dwayne Washington would be smart to leave. He should go to a Big Sky school where his speed will be too much for the opponents.
A 1500 yard season in the Big Sky will attract more scouts than a 300 yard season at UW would. We all know he will test very well at his pro day. -
Coleman got more carries the last few games. I dont think he's done.bananasnblondes said:I'm also thinking Constantine is gone because BBK will supplant him as Azeem's backup.

I have to call my tree guy for the official version of this, but...
QB:
Austyn Magna Carta: Long Fucking gone. (81%)
Ragnar Lunderquist: Could conceivably still start if Brownsocks goes down; wouldn't necessarily start if he transfers unless it was to like D-II; PLU or something. (19%)
RB:
Jomon "Lomo Saltado" Dotson: I just don't see how he fits. He might be too young/stupid to realize he won't ever start (McGrew will pass him and so will any other 2017 guy). (19%)
Lavon Coleman: No way he leaves with his breakout season upcoming!!!! (19%)
Deontae Cooper: Both shouldn't and won't leave. At this point he's an average Pac-12 back. Probably could start for a few teams. I hope he gets a million carries early on and his confidence up because he could be a key to our season if he plays the way he's capable of. He's on here because the dawgman fucktards keep acting like it's up in the air if he's coming back (0%).
DWarsh: I already miss making fun of him. (81%)
WR:
No one is going to leave, but Nik Little, QPounds, Andrea Bocelli and Aaron Fuller should. Word is that those were all Pease guys. I think Pease is a fucking retard.
TE:
No one will leave. The position is in good shape. Could be great if guys take steps forward.
OL:
Dane Crane: Word is it's going to be a medical retirement for this piece of shit. (81%)
Shane Brostek: Probably too stupid to realize he should leave. Too bad to play anywhere else. Can you believe we played him as a true frosh on both lines? Fucking Christ. (19%)
Both John Turner and Matt James look like they will never really play, but I doubt they seriously consider leaving at this point.
DL:
Joe Mathis: Sad, but I think he's gone. All the talent in the world, refuses to bulk up. Fuck. (81%)
Damion "Derpin" Turpin: It's an injustice that Mathis will probably leave and this turd won't; but I guess to LEAVE you have to have something that other people want. (19%)
LB:
Connor O'Brien: He should leave, but I'm worried he got too much time down the stretch. (19%)
Bellevue Red: How is a fucking ginger from Bellevue on the same team as Azeem Victor? (0%)
Psalm Whooshing: Fucking crap. He's not leaving, but fuck I wish he would. (0%)
DB:
Brandon Beaver: Already gone? Medical retirement? Allah be merciful! (81%)
Trevor Walker: If I were CP, I'd just tell him to stay in TX after the bowl. We're not lucky enough for him to LEAVE, though. (19%)
Brandon Lewis: At one point was a big time recruit, blew out his ACL and he's behind like 17 kids at this point. Probably too young/stupid to realize he should leave. (19%)

Why the fuck would Mathis leave when he has one year left? He has 7.5 tfl's in his last 13 games. Its a shame he didn't redshirt.

I'm hearing that they tried him at BUCK to satisfy his want to play standing up and it didn't work. After that, they wanted him to bulk up but he didn't and played DE at 250, which obviously doesn't work and didn't work this year.
Apparently, he's got people in his ear telling him he needs to go to a place where they use him correctly and let him play in space, rush the passer and 'make plays with his talent.'
I don't know this part, but my guess is he wants to play a 'BUCK-like' position and show off for the NFL; he probably thinks he can do that better somewhere else (Montana State, etc.).
I think it's fucking stupid, but a lot of these kids believe shit like this (it was depressing covering the team closely because almost everyone is a fucking ego-manic moron).
Why the fuck else would DWarsh leave? They all think they should be first rounders - until they realize they suck (Turpin), then they just hang on for dear life. -
Mathis should be a 270+ pound DE in a 3-4. He's slow enough as a DE. Maybe he ran a decent 40, but he has very little quickness. He would be a disaster at Buck.
Dennis convinced me that he might be decent, but I always thought he kind of sucked. He was too small to play DT and too slow to play DE. No redshirt year either and now he will either wash out or just start to get good late in his senior year. -
I don't agree that he always sucked and I massively disagree that he's not quick. His problem is bulk. I don't even think he's a tweener.RoadDawg55 said:Mathis should be a 270+ pound DE in a 3-4. He's a guy who has a big frame who easily could be a 270 DE. He has natural power and explosion.
But it's hard to overpower dudes when you are 245 and don't give a shit about playing DE.
I have heard that basically he just wants to rely on talent and not work. It's sad.
But whatever.
Funny things happen when you transition staffs. -
Exactly, he's a tweener with his size. I saw him lifting at the IMA at some point last year, and the dude is an absolute fucking monster... pushing more weight than anyone I've ever seen. He was clearly trying to add size, but as we can see there's not been much improvement. So either his frame just isn't built to get bigger than he already is, or just can't break a plateau of weight without getting fat and getting even slower.RoadDawg55 said:Mathis should be a 270+ pound DE in a 3-4. Mathis transferring now makes no sense unless his plan is to leave for a small school where he can possibly tear it up against inferior competition. He's pretty much locked into a starting spot here as a senior for next season. I can't see a bunch of P5 schools really wanting him based on his performance thus far and he'd have to sit out a year to play one more.

I guess he finally has answered the question and he does in fact, go to the shower first. -
I don't know Joe myself, so I have no idea if this is true...
But what I was told is that they wanted him to get up to 270-280 and he just flat out didn't do it. He felt like he could just be a weight room monster and do his job that way. He didn't want to lose his speed, etc.
He has always believed (according to this source, but he said as much when he was being recruited) that he was a 3-4 OLB and wants to play in space. The feeling is that many 'in his camp' have convinced him that is true and that we didn't give him a fair shot at BUCK.
Apparently he believes that if he transfers he will be given a role that will use what he and his 'camp' think of as his talents: making plays in space, rushing the passer, etc.
I'm not positive this is the case, it's just what I'm hearing, no twisting, etc.
Also, the coaching staff felt he had the frame to carry 290 before he left.
One last thing: seeing a guy lift weights doesn't mean shit. Lifting weights doesn't mean shit if you don't eat and roid. -
No program in America had more success over the last two years converting virgin players to BUCK.
Someone needs to look out for Joe's best interest and tell him frankly: if you couldn't BUCK at UW you ain't bucking anywhere. -
It's really his loss. I agree with all of this, but if he's too out of it to see it, not our fault.FremontTroll said:No program in America had more success over the last two years converting virgin players to BUCK.

Why is it a foregone conclusion that he already "failed" at being BUCK? I think it's a little more likely that for the last 2 years, we've had sackmaster Kikaha and then Feeney (arguably the best player on our defense last year) controlling the BUCK slot, and in order to maximize the talent on the field they put Mathis at DE instead of making him a backup. If Mathis played BUCK then Feeney gets pushed to Littleton's spot and then we're stuck with someone like Jaylen Johsnson starting over Littleton. So it's not because he sucks at it, but because other players on the roster were better fits there.
Now I'll eat my words on this if that going into next year, Benning Potato or an unlikely recruit (Juarez/Kongboner) beat him out for the BUCK. But I think its his position to lose at this point. -
That would make sense...... Buuuuuuuut, he doesn't even play the position, the backup is Psalm, Littleton rolls there sometimes and then O'Brien is next. They don't play him at BUCK at all.NEsnake12 said:Why is it a foregone conclusion that he already "failed" at being BUCK?
