When Reasons Become Excuses.....
Clearly, a huge issue our offense has been playcalling. Blame whoever you want, but it's seems entirely too complicated and cute. A second issue our offense has is youth. You inbred fucks have scorched me over this one, but maybe, just maybe, a bit of data can help you see the light. I'm not holding my breath, though.
The following numbers represent the number of years of experience each P12 team had at the 5 OL positions + QB coming into this season, based on who started their last games.
ASU - 18
Oregon - 15
Stanford - 15
Cal - 14
Utah - 13
WSU - 12
Arizona - 12
USC - 12
OSU - 10
Colorado - 10
UCLA - 9
UW - 4
But I guess youth is just an excuse.....

I get what you are saying, but it's on the coaches to come up with a game plan the youts can handle, not whatever the hell they have been doing. And then I think of last year, they sucked then too. And then I think of the last couple years at Boise JC, they sucked on offense too. I vividly recall discussions on their forums about how much their new offense sucked and they hated Prince with a passion.
The team is young and this is a fact, but the coaches are FS for not adjusting to that. -
If you want to go down this path do the same exact thing but for the last 5-8 years along with the final number of wins that team achieved for the entire Pac12
If you want to be lazy atleast post the number of seniors starting for UW for the past 10 years and the number of wins that year.
Either way it will be interesting
The script says, UW fires Smith at the end of this year (too late) for going 3-6 in conference play with a shitty offense, new offensive coordinator is hired, then we can all say, you cant expect to have a competent offense because he has to install his new system (2016), so 2017 will be special...
Or... you could just fucking watch the games and ask yourself how youth has anything to do with an offensive game plan that:
1) Forces the ball to Mickens
2) Doesnt use the senior, junior, RS FR, or sophomore TEs
3) Doesnt consistently run the football even after it works
4) Forces the QB to either throw it 50 yards down the field or 2 yards behind the line of scrimmage
5) Naked Bootleg!!
7) Marvin Hall is the deep threat
6) Lindy package
8) Pettis, Who??!!

And there was a time around 2007 when UW on the top of this list. The # of combined starts by an OL is horseshit if the coaching sucks. Right now, UW's offensive coaching sucks.HuskyInAZ said:.....or not.

I'd say more but HouHusky already nailed it. -
That young OL rammed the ball down Cal's throat and then the dumbfuck OC went away from it.HuskyInAZ said:.....or not.

The next youngest OL just pushed Arizona's shit in for days.
The oldest OL in the league SUCKS.
Shit post, shit poster. -
reasons?... excuses?... or FACTORS? as to why we suck? I don't think you're analyzing this guud.
-
I'm going with excuses
That we have heard for years
That Petersen was hired to overcome
That he has exacerbated (look it up, rhymes with masturbated)
No one gives a fuck
Win or die -

UCLA kicked the piss out of Zona
Oregon got slobber knocked
The ONLY scenario that fits your weak ass hypothesis is Washington. And I miss them dammit.
I recall back in 2000 - something ... a worn down and out Washington team hosted Cal and for some fucktarded reason known only to the coach's black ass and his God ... Washington ran the ball. Just fucking ran it. The big uglies pushed Cal around like they were rag dolls.
Who ever that asshole who writes Duck Fighter Illustrated is said something very profound (for once) ... when the road graters start grating ... you let them because they love it.
If you pay a kid to block and push people's shit ... and they are doing well with it ... why would you go away from it? Because you have a process and your process says you do X, Y, and Z ... not what is working.
That is Jonathan Smith's problem ... and it will be the next OC's problem. Because it is Peterman's problem.
He had a system that worked ... and he went 92-12 ... and so it is justified that is the way you do things ... but you have to have OKG's to do it.
Summed up ... we're fucked. -
Some of those teams have a lot of cumulative starts because they played young guys and went through that fire.
UCLA was young on offense in 2012 and 2013. Arizona was young last year. SC started 3 true Frosh on the OL last year.
I think those squads got more out of the year than Peterson has. -
Some of you fucks need to separate emotions from reading what you want to hear ...
I don't think anybody is saying that Smith is doing a good job ... I'm not. I've been critical of the lack of identity from the offense (thoughts echoed by Kyle Benn). I've noted that even when Smith makes a solid play call, the execution isn't always matching (which often is tied to youth).
There isn't going to be a mid-season firing. Carry the pitchforks all that you want ... not happening. He wasn't getting fired last year as he was going to get a 2nd year to prove whether he had the answers or not. I agree a lot of pressure on Petersen on how he manages this situation at season end and into the offseason as his recent track record leaves a bit to be desired. -
Usually the youth excuse is bullshit. I blasted people on Fagman for using it as a crutch and was subsequently banned.
In this case, it has a little validity, but it doesn't make up for losing a winnable home game against a middle tier conference opponent. I cam see it in the Boise game a little though.
I still think this team will get it's shit together eventually. Take screenshots.
