ASU has been the conference's sleeping giant longer than UW has been sleeping, but still.Tequilla said:He's not wrong

ASU has never consistently won at the highest levels in this conference ... UW has ... hope that helps

A winning attitude is the first toward a winning record. The Huskies are young. They might not get all the way around the corner this year.Tequilla said:He's not wrong

They just lost to Boise Trucking Academy fer crissakes.

Boobs is fired up.

The premise of the article is that UW is on its way on the up and up ... if you can't see that you're either using the eyes of @GrandpaSankey from 5 years ago OR you have been slapped upside the head so many times that you fail to be optimistic going forward.
As for GoeFS with some of the facts in his article ... consider the source of his readers. -

Is this the thread where we claim 5-4 > 5-4 > 5-4 > 5-4?Tequilla said:The premise of the article is that UW is on its way on the up and up ... if you can't see that you're either using the eyes of @GrandpaSankey from 5 years ago OR you have been slapped upside the head so many times that you fail to be optimistic going forward.

One moral victory against Boise Trucking Institute doesn't prove shit. We had a better moral victory under Sark against LSU. -
Yeah the defense and special teams looks good, but the offense looks like shit. I get that things like "attitude" are important and certainly Petersen has installed a good attitude, but the offense looks like shit and it is hard to believe it is only having a mediocre offensive line. And as yesterday showed, without an offense, a good defense and special teams is not enough to get a victory.Tequilla said:The premise of the article is that UW is on its way on the up and up ... if you can't see that you're either using the eyes of @GrandpaSankey from 5 years ago OR you have been slapped upside the head so many times that you fail to be optimistic going forward.

This really pissed me off.
"We played our hearts out," Mickens said. "We can't hold our heads down because of a loss like this. Everybody in that locker room fought back — coaching staff and players."
Fuck you, dude! -
These local guys are the worst. Everything has to be a positive, because you can never criticize the team. The local writer in Pullman is right now working overtime spinning that disaster. These people have no creditability and don't even believe any of the shit they write. Hell, its border line fiction. But they have to because the bosses above them have them by the balls because the football program has the bosses by the balls.

Compare that to Browning's quote. One person felt physically sick, the other seems just as happy as if they had won.PurpleBaze said:This really pissed me off.

Oh I totally agree on that, but nothing in the actual offensive play gave me reason for optimism that the team with Smith at OC could be any better than mediocre.Tequilla said:

It's hard - I wasn't impressed by the job Smith did last night ... was way too vanilla with the play calling.Hippopeteamus said:

At the same time, I fully expect that this is a team that gets better during the course of the year and my hope is that the play calling expands with it.
If it doesn't, hard to see anyway that Smith survives to next year. -
Ed Zachary! The one sick to his stomach was trying his hardest. The one who's positive was running sideways. I don't want to shit on Mickens too much, but I will. He blocks a punt, which is great. Then, he makes a fucking bonehead mistake on a play that results in a holding penalty at the worst fucking possible time. Situational football... know how much time is left on the clock, where you are at on the field, where the 1st down marker is, and how many timeouts your team has left.Hippopeteamus said:

You can be as positive as you want. But, if you haven't yet learned to do the little things that mean a difference between a win and a loss, then you need to STFU.
His fuckup pisses me off more than the loss itself. There was a chance and it was extinguished by the dude who came up with that fucking Legion of Zoom bullshit.

I love outing closeted Doogs.
-
It's a process ... it's hard ... it really really is ... there's another team on the other side of the field that is trying really really hard as well ... but we're working at it and you can see some good things out there that you just need to build on because like I said, it's really really hard and it's just part of the process.

Pretty sure that they weren't in the PAC at that point ... they've won the conference 2x in almost 40 years? Fuck, even the Cougs have done that.BallSacked said:

Fuck the process.
Each coaching staff sells us a bill of goods. Each time, the Huskies are mediocre at best.
I hope Petersen proves us wrong. I hope he's the one who is not like Gilby, Ty, & Sark.
Until the team stops leaving steaming piles on the field, they need to be rightfully criticized.
