Tequilla, Lindy cant stretch the field. In sustained real game action, those prayers to Ross wont work anymore. Linda's problem is he cannot hit a moving target within 10 yards. Given that, those streaks and posts to Ross wont be there anymore. Oh, and Ross is redshirting next year.

Regarding the OL, you're probably right. I still think there is a chance (28%?) that there could be improvement overall though.
LT: Eldrenkamp is probably a step-back from Hatchie (who was durable but average).
LG: A healthy RS-SR Dex Charles will be better than a banged up RS-JR Dex Charles
C: Tanigawa was decent until he started screwing up the snaps and Criste just wasn't powerful enough. Tufunga is bigger and stronger than Criste so at least he has that going for him.
RG: Atoe / Tanigawa were ok. Brostek redshirted last year (thanks Stevie) and is now 301 lbs (tuff guy Cozz played him at 280 lbs). Have heard he could surprise.
RT: Shelton / Atoe were pretty bad. Riva was supposed to anchor the OL last year (he was good in 2013) but he couldn't get healthy. RS-Frosh Coleman Shelton took over for him and while he has promise, he ultimately proved that he wasn't ready so Strausser had to shuffle and put Atoe at RT. Atoe was pretty bad, even as a RS-SR. Either Shelton as a RS-Soph or Matt James as a RS-Frosh have to be better than Atoe was, right? Word on the street is that the coaches love Matt James (he won the Huskies' "Ultimate Greenhorn" Award for his work in the weight room) and would love to see him put on 15 to 20 pounds of good weight...like Coleman Shelton last year, though, he may be 1 more year away.
As for QB, I like our options this year than I did at the end of last year (Miles, Lindquist, and Williams)...KJCS was redshirting and Browning was playing his senior year so neither could compete for the job. Now Lindquist is a RS-JR and reports are that his accuracy has improved; he may end up not starting the most games for the Huskies in 2015 but I can't imagine him having a worse intuitive feel of how to play the QB position than Miles did last year.
Maybe what killed us the most at QB (besides having a noddle armed starter) is that Miles had too many dud plays...he was 3rd in carries (he nearly had more carries than Shaq Thompson and Deontae Cooper combined) yet he had just a 2.6 ypa and his long was just 22 yards. Ouch.
Another stat to keep in mind when thinking about Miles running and throwing (for those who love the pain) is that he was involved in 447 out of 1007 total plays. That means Denver's finest either ran or threw the ball 44.389% for the offense, he with his noddle arm and 2.6 yard per carry average. Next year HAS to be an improvement over those putrid numbers and lack of innate QB traits.RoadDawg55 said:

RB - No reason to think they won't be better. Same guys as last year plus another likely contributor in Gaskin.
WR - I think we'll be better. Compared to the rest of the Pac, this group is nothing special. I'm not sure it matters too much with the QB issues.
OL - Why couldn't the guys now beat out the dreck from last year? Dexter Charles is overrated and has never been better than average. Maybe slightly above. What has anyone else done to inspire any confidence? They might not be much worse, but don't fool yourself. These guys aren't good and will be in the bottom half of the Pac 12.
DL - I like the young guys, but they will be significantly worse than last year. Thinking we lose two All Americans and another good player, but get better is some doogFS logic. I like Qualls, Mathis, and Dissly but come on. They are young guys who have hardly played. Shelton and Kikaha were both in the conversation for best defensive players in the conference. Andrew Hudson had like 12 sacks. I remember how the DL played against UCLA without Kikaha. And that was with Shelton and Andrew Hudson.
LB - Maybe the same if we get modest improvements out of Feeney and Littleton. I think the narrative that Shaq wasn't that good has been repeated enough some think it's true. He was good. This group could also be slightly worse. I don't think it really matters.
Secondary - Should be better and possibly a strength.
This team is plagued by the same things as last year. Bad QB, shitty OL. At this point, the WR's and RB's aren't anything special and the offensive coaching should be questioned until proven otherwise. The defense should be decent, but could be worse than last year. Just my $.02. -

I think this 4 O/U and the past 10-12 years has warped people's minds. Kal still sucks. So does Wazooo. So does OSU. According to the SEC geniuses, so does the South. So beat the 1-aa's and Boise CC or win four or five games. It's not really asking the world.

IThe chart did the math in Arizona and with the way it played out running the ball was the right play. Cooper just can't fumble the ball there.
The only reason I have optimism for a better QB season from Lindy is that AT LEAST Lindy can stretch a defense over the top. He very well might suck. But let's be honest, defenses didn't have to respect Miley's ability to beat ANYBODY over the top. Whether that creates a couple of extra easy scores on the season or does just enough to loosen up a bit on the running game, I think that this will cause at least a subtle difference. -

The talent last year, other than the defensive front 7 and one member of the secondary who got booted half way through the season, was below average. Most importantly at the quarter back position. Yeah JS didn't tailor the offense to Miles but let's be honest.... we had a bottom third offensive line, bottom third pair of running backs and a bottom third (if not worst) QB in the conference. A conference with a bunch of offenses that are going to put up points week in and week out. I think 8-6 is a perfectly acceptable record given that set of circumstances that CP walked into.
Going forward, the offense will probably still be one of the lower 3rd in the conference this season and the defense probably won't be as good last year. We could easily have the same, if not worse record at the end of this season. And I don't give a shit.
It's pretty clear that the days of Slick Rick and Jerramy Stevens are gone and that winning at UW is going to look way more like it does at Stanford than it does at USC or Oregon. And CP is that coach to move us in that direction.
