The additional funny thing about the Samek editorial.... I called Kim immediately and asked him why they were running another editorial after they wouldn't let me run my multiple anti-Ty editorials going back to the previous year. Kim said Samek was being a "fucking idiot" and had posted it without his permission.

Total fucking cop out. And a lie. Even if it was true, where the fuck is the editor in chief?

Oh yeah, never mind...he's too busy chowing down on a plate of 12 lb nachos while jerking off to a 17 year old boy's football highlight tape.

This sums it up about as well as I've ever heard it.

Say what you want about Sven being a dumb ass, but I was in a casino with him the day that Willingham was hired, and paraphrasing him regarding the hire: " We are fucked." That was almost four years before Dawgman.com admitted publicly on their boards that Willingham was a disaster.

I admit I am guilty of giving him the first year pass, much like I gave Corky. I'm too nice of a guy I guess.

I had home for Willingham year 1. I was looked at he Stanford record and bought into the myth that it's hard to win at Stanford and Ty did about as well there as some of their best coaches. I mocked Sark from the first kick ass presser.

    I'm too nice as well.

I gave Steve the Soft a pass until that pathetic Alamo Bowl game. I kinda had it figured out when we got mopped up by a three win Or St team the same year, 2011.

In the second year it was pretty obvious: lack of discipline, lousy organization, sloppy execution, poor play calling, disinterest during games - a cream puff soft culture. Music during meetings, guys goofing off on the sidelines. What a crock of shit.

Pete Carroll had the bullets to do that at USC. That shit doesn't work so well here.

In early November 2010 you told me I was embarrassing myself by criticizing Sark and calling for Polk to get the ball 25-30 times a game. I'm glad you finally saw the light.

Well Derek, 2010 was really, really early to throw in the towel. I thought so then I still do. (Best I can remember, you were calling for Sark's head in 2010? The Polk thing was one of the reasons.)

There were plenty of warning signs in 2010 as mentioned above. However, the guy could have improved, he could have learned to be a head coach, he could have dumped the duds on his staff much sooner, he could have hired an offensive coordinator, there were many ways he could have matured by 2012. He didn't.

My call all along was 2012 being the watershed year. He flunked.

By that logic, why throw in the towel now? He could improve, right? The truth is the truth no matter when you see it. The truth was evident in 2010. It wasn't to early. We all knew he wasn't going to do the things you listed. He "could have". And I could win the lottery. You were relying on "hope".

Actually Mike, I was relying on management expertise that works more often than not. Hope had zero to do with it.

However, without a doubt I was wrong.

Explain. You were using you're management expertise? My management expertise told me he had never done anything in his career to suggest he would be a decent head coach. Doogman puffed up a bunch of stuff that was bullshit and many of us said so at the time. But still, in 2009 he needed a chance to prove himself. After 2009, the facts still said he had done zero to suggest he would be a decent head coach. My management style uses facts and data to come to conclusions, not sire what you use. In 2010 it was clear sark was out of his league. There was some irrational exuberance they way 2010 ended, but careful analysis of the facts surrounding that season told us what we needed to know. We have the wrong coach.

This, of course, was after your drunk father in law on the couch broke the news about Sark being hired and Fleenor and AASHAT losing their fucking marbles that night.
