Who is dooging for him though? Going 9-4 is not going to get you fired in your second year at any school in the country and a good recruiting class doesn't hurt. Not sure about Japans CFB juggernauts

No. Most don’t seem to really like him. Nobody loves him and he doesn’t deserve it. The flirting with other schools, whether it’s his fault or not, does not help. His play calling sucks.
He seems to recruit well and the player development looks pretty good and has already happened with his Arizona teams. There are positives. I’m fine with saying this year was failure because it was. We have high standards but there have been plenty of rebuilding years in the history of Husky Football. Sometimes, the future years were great, sometimes not.
I would rather take my chances next year with this roster (plus some good transfers), an upperclassmen QB, and a more veteran OL than the roster getting gutted and a new coach coming in.
I’m not going to wail on about wanting Fisch to be fired because it was never going to happen and it’s not warranted at this point. I’m not sold that he can take us to the next level, but him coaching us next year is best for the program at this point.

The real question for Fisch is the buyout.
Are we really comfortable rolling with Fisch on a $60M buyout? If it goes South what evidence do we have that our AD has the ability to swing that kind of buyout?
I wouldn't be against an extension, it's just a much different proposition when you don't have oil money or Nike money.

You mean Indiana, right?

Another national championship of excuses is in the books

Extension, large buyout, hope he goes to the playoffs and someone pays us? to take him in the next year or two.
Pretty much where I'm at. He still isn't the guy but all the pluses are definitely as you mentioned.
Making the playoffs next year is a requirement and solidifies UW as a program in that category.
-
Dannen paid Rhule and our boosters are gonna pay Judd. At least everyone learned something along the way.
-
This.
Unless an NFL team or Michigan (not likely now) comes calling, Fisch will be the coach for UW in 2026. LIPO.

I don't buy that "Chun's hands are tied" … do more and find revenue sources to plug gaps OR find ways to streamline your expenses to get to a self funded budget
Newsflash … Olympic sports are money pits that are nice to have's instead of must have's
IF people want to support those sports that's great but it can't come at the expense of what brings in money … it's piss poor management to do otherwise.
If the Subaru driving lesbians want to fund some sport programs … then great.
But this idea of over-funding sports that aren't self sufficient on their own is a contributing factor of what killed the PAC12.

The last part is the most important part of your post …
The ROI on that incremental $2-3M in how the program is perceived by so many people (coaches, recruits, fans, media, etc.) is so incredibly important
