Before we started recording we were shooting the shit. I did a monotone impression of Christian Caple saying "Steve Belichick came out to practice today. One sock was blue, the other was brown." And then I launched into Danny's shrieking peals of laughter.
So the subsequent Danny shriek-laughter on the pod was actually for Joey and Woolley. I didn't think it would be funny for the listeners. So I am glad to see it was.
The optimistic, maybe doog take is that Fisch is capable of having a Petersen-like tenure here. His first season has a lot of similarities with 2014 and 15. Petersen got ran off the field in Eugene and mostly wasn't competitive in a lot of his games, even though the metrics loved the 2015 team. That ASU game in 2015 was getting blown off the field on the road, imo. We gave up like a 2-3 touchdown lead.
The other thing is that Petersen's prevent defense shit and trying to just pin teams deep because his offense sucked made those losses less embarrassing.
Solid comparison. I just can't see Fisch being Petersen, but something between Petersen and Sark seems realistic. Forgot how bad the offensive talent and experience was when Petersen took over.
I don't remember if it was 2014 or 15, but Petersen has to move Ross to corner because the depth there was so bad. That left nobody of note playing receiver.
I forgot about that and Ross was hurt all of 2015 so it was 2014. The focus was on the upperclassmen who were legit and we lost with, but there was also INSANE young talent, including a couple of guys who moved to offense the next year. Pretty sure the Kim narrative was that team would have won more games with the upperclass talent but Petersen was all in on his system so there were some tough learning lessons.

LOL at the pup rant.
The Danny O'Neil thing was totally unexpected and starting. Nicely done, Derek.
*startling

Cliff's Notes:
Did you actually listen to this? I figured we lost people once we got into the intricacies of Skagit County sports rivalries.
I did.
Credit where due, you guys remember impressively minute details of games, seasons, players, etc.
And Stalin likes to say "emasculated."
Ladies and gentlemen, your new D-Lineman from U of A!!
I wonder if brother Alec will be roaming the sidelines of Husky Stadium?
[high pitched squealing laughter]

"Theres a lot of great Vaudeville one man acts out there" has copypasta potential

I'm glad I paused when I heard him say that and asked. Had no idea he knew so much about solo vaudeville acts.
I laughed

Fisch is nothing like Petersen
