Agreed, a P4 championship should only guarantee a playoff bid, not a top 4 seed.
Equally nonsensical is the existence of conference championship games given that teams don't want to play in it.
I'm really hoping the SEC champ loser gets a 3rd loss and misses the playoffs while three or four 2-loss SEC teams that didn't make the championship get in. Would end lead to immediate rule changes for playoff selection if not the end of conference championship games.
I guess the debate becomes what are we even doing here?
There aren’t 12 teams capable of winning the title so why all the hand wringing after the top 5 teams?
Rhetorical questions.
Indiana should be in Miami should be in. It’s not a mirage unless we? thought they were capable of winning the whole thing which none of us ever thought to begin with.
The best of 7 in the nba exists to make sure the best team advances every time, so that’s a poor comparison. If it was single elimination like ncaa youd see a lot more parity. For the record, best of 7 is good for basketball because with the 3 point shot any team can easily lose on any given night if they run into a couple dudes who can’t miss.
That gaffed punt swung the momentum B1Gly. They had to play mistake free, it would have been nice to watch the 2nd half playout without the gaff. They are better than Penn State imo
Oregon
tOSU
Indiana
PSU
☝️ Heading into the playoff, with one lose Oregon vs one lose OSU and Oregon beating Buck by 3.

Great summary.

Stop watching CCG and they disappear
The SEC championship game started it all and at one point got paid more than the Rose Bowl
So everyone did it. I don't think Pac fans ever really cared that much. It seemed like there was always more to lose than gain
If the money dries up they go away
They don't play a NFC West championship game before the playoffs
Playoffs ?
Have it be more like college basketball.
bump.
Indiana was a mirage.
They had a very bad day on special teams.
A lot of other teams have bad schedules and don’t beat everyone by 30.
they’d lose to Buck 8 of 10, and Buck would contribute to the two with retardation.
Very true.

When you expand the playoffs in any sport most teams have no chance to win it all
Disagree. Vehemently.
Ok
But I'm right. Look at the NBA or NFL
Or college football
That’s just two of quite a few sports that have and have expanded their playoffs.
And until the Chiefs showed up not even true of the NFL.
The Seahawks made the playoffs several times post SB win and loss. Never had a shot
Well at least we’ve gone from “any sport” to just the Seahawks…
We’ll get there sooner or later.
NBA no argument of course I'm right. NFL I'm right
College football is a SEC or B1G team. This year's champ will be Oregon, Bama, or Georgia. Get your screen shot
I was agreeing that Miami is a playoff team with no shot but appreciate the challenge as always
UW had no shot in 16. Had a shot last year.
You’re still wrong. Sorry.

38-15. Football is a momentum game. Good teams overcome it by surviving the swing and then taking it back.
