It was the weirdest Apple Cup I can remember. Venue, time of the season, etc. 1 of 1.
Almost as if it wasn't an apple cup, but a non con against a team that just hates your soul. And that game was like the one thing Dickert needed to prevent them from completely flat-lining ad a program.
Coaches fucked it up, I get that. Bad gameplan, but my overall judgement of them depends on what they do in th B1G.
One of the biggest things missed from the past two years that's gonna continue to be missed is how fine things felt on like 3rd and 10ish. It still always felt like we were going to get the first down, especially because if we were across the 50 we were going for it. It's hard to get used to going back to having anything third down, including like third and one seem like a Herculean challenge because you dont' think the line can get a yard or not get a fucking false start to make it 3rd and 6.
I agree with both guys' choices to go and am happy they've both already caught NFL touchdowns but the team really needed McMillan or Polk to come back. Having one WR who can straight up get open on every play is a huge difference maker for a team built like Washington this year.
I'm guessing the Talking Heads didn't get a lot of play in Sedro-Woolley. Seems more like a Poison/Ratt/Skid Row, and for the girls, Bon Jovi, kind of place IMO.
I would add too, that the Natty appearance was against the Big-10 champion and program we have played the most in the Rose Bowl all time. And we played them for the Natty…
I have no idea about back in the 80s but I'm sure not. My generation the kids were pretty basic listening to Eminem, 50 Cent rap stuff and generic country like Kenny Chesney. The nerdy band kids who would have been the only group with a chance to listen to Talking Heads liked Weezer.

Having a generational talent at QB covers a lot of warts. I wish we could have had 3 + years out of a guy like Penix.
