It’s amazing to me that people think Sark and Lanning can win a big game. Neither one has proven they can do that yet, and there’s significant evidence to the contrary.
I would pick Texas to win it all before Oregon. There are several other teams I'd put ahead of Oregon, too.

He’s got access to large and unusual humans in Texas that he didn’t have on the west coast and unlimited recourses and zero NCAA rules in the way to acquire them. That helps. Whether it’s taken him 14 years to do it or not, he’s won some big, important games now. Lanning still can’t say that. Don’t get me wrong, I think Sark is a net negative to winning a title but the idea that Sark and Lanning are equal at this point in their careers is where I disagree.
I would take Lanning year 3 over Sark year 3. I'd take Lanning over Sark right now.
I’ll take Sark and his handful of big wins over a guy who hasn’t ever won anything of consequence. Agree to disagree. Lannings biggest win was beating a Liberty team that might win 6 games in last years P12. They were not a good team. I think Lanning is a pretty good, young coach. Ill reserve the right to change my opinion if he can take this team uncle Phil bought for him and flip the script.

Jesus tap dancing christ this shit is getting out of hand. Anyone not picking Ohio State or Georgia is trying too hard and I won't give Rick a pass for wanting to choose a west coast team. When the rubber meats the road in these big games a Pac-12 type team not named USC, including Oregon, will need massive star power and epic performances to overcome the trenches talent and depth they just can't match. Mariota and Penix lost by 20 points in the last two chances and little Dillon aren't on those teams' levels until proven otherwise.
sark never had to beat a greased up liberty team, people forget this.
Pretty wild Sark has had the level of jobs he has had for the amount of years he has had and last year was the first year he won even 10 games. He only got to nine once even and that was with a bowl win he didn't even coach.
Between good coaches not wanting to coach college, the portal, and legal bags it does set up progrums like Texas and Oregon exceptionally well to have 10 plus wins success rather easily though so it's really hard to gauge how good clowns like Sark and Lanning are.
I thought he went 9-4 his one full season at USC too.
You're right - Wikipedia threw me off because they don't give him the 9th win in 2013 for UW. I'll give Sark credit if he has another big year this year, especially in the SEC. Texas hasn't had two big years since the 2000s.
One of the shitty things about the portal is it really bails out guys like Sark and schools like Texas if they aren't developing guys they can just steal some guy another school developed.
