Rogers doesn’t excite me unless last year was an aberration. If we get the 21-22 version, then maybe. Ward has talent, but he makes terrible decisions and single handedly loses games. I’m not super enamored with any of the portal guys, but I wasn’t super excited about Penix either, and we know how that turned out. Deboer’s last two transfer QBs have been pretty fucking solid, so I’ll trust his judgment on QBs until he gives me reason not to. Also, if Rogers coming gives us another year of DJ, sign me the fuck up.

Define proven? Most qb's are in the portal because the the place they play is not working out for both parties.NeGgaPlEaSe said:
But not proven. So like I said I just don’t see it or maybe I’m being a doog. But why would he take off and not competetheknowledge said:
Will Rogers is fine. He’ll be good in this offense.NeGgaPlEaSe said:
D-Mo isn’t leaving for Will Rogers, because he has to know besides being one hit away from starting , he is probably better
Before last year he put up nice numbers. I don't pretend to have watched a lot of will rogers but he probably knows how to process a defense and make decisions based off of his td/int ratio.
This year ms state could not move the ball. Seemed to be a terrible offensive coaching staff all around. -
Guysm, guysm, guysm, what happened to the “if DeBoer likes him, we’re fine with him?”

Proven in this system . Proven going into spring practiceAtomicDawg said:

Rogers did great when he only had six plays to remember.
But if DeBoer is the QB whisperer we think he is, then no worries should be had. -
DeBoers last three transfers. As OC at Fresno he turned Marcus McMarryon into an all league QB. Before Fresno, McMarryon was passed over at QB and converted to a WR at Oregon state. Rogers will be good here.EsophagealFeces said:Rogers doesn’t excite me unless last year was an aberration. If we get the 21-22 version, then maybe. Wonder when the next time UW will start a local at QB will be
-
I won't be surprised at all if he ends up at Fresno State where Tedford will proceed to make him into one of the top QBs in the nation and then all the fans here are pissed that we let him get away.

Hopefully never.PostGameOrangeSlices said:Wonder when the next time UW will start a local at QB will be

Nah. He is sitting out the bowl for health reasons (probably a procedure) but he is still the HC at Fresno.theknowledge said:

Recent history would suggest that it isn’t gonna happen anytime soon. And that’s probably just as well.PostGameOrangeSlices said:Wonder when the next time UW will start a local at QB will be

32 years ago when recruiting was much more limited to geographic footprint and the internet didn't exist. It's fairly evident that WA talent does not measure up against other areas where we can successfully recruit. WA 4/5 star is equivalent to a CA 3 star.PostGameOrangeSlices said:

Washington preps used to put a fair amount of guys in the NFL at quarterback. It's been awhile
Flick, Pelluer, MIllen, Chandler, Conklin. Bledsoe, Hobart etc -
Tui, Huard’s, Locker.
Sizemore and Tui’s younger brother probably would have ended up in the league.RaceBannon said:Washington preps used to put a fair amount of guys in the NFL at quarterback. It's been awhile

Bret Rypien is probably the best QB this state has produced in the last 10 years. That tells you all you need to know on that.jecornel said:Tui, Huard’s, Locker.

Washington did fine when the archetype was big strong-armed white boys. When the league changed to a more athletic predominant model it kind of passed us(?) by.RaceBannon said:Washington preps used to put a fair amount of guys in the NFL at quarterback. It's been awhile

That said, I think the only thing I dislike about the portal era is that even fewer of the players are from the region. I know we will still recruit the state and get our share of WA guys. The regional aspect of college sports was one of the best things about it IMO.
Next we are are probably starting Miss State players at QB and RB
That said, ultimately I prefer the portal era - dont twist. But it would be nice for the program to clean up in state. -
The coaches probably had 'the talk' with him as an assistant held the door open.EwaDawg said:
This. DyMo was content until he wasn't. Did He get a little push to make room for a portal QB or two?theknowledge said:I get the feeling UW has a portal QB on the hook.
