Undefeated regular season
Two wins in a row over Oregon
11-2 last year
19 wins in a row
I'll mourn a loss when it happens. Until then, in the words of PLSS, sit down and shut the fuck up.
I'll take undefeated versus 10-2 with losses to ASU and Stanford. Oh but we beat cuog by 30!!! Who gives a fuck.
Winners win.

After tonight’s performance I’ve had enough of the “winners win” rhetoric just as much as I’m sick of the constant bashing of this team and coaching staff. There is an ABUNDANCE option of being excited about how the team has handled adversity and gifted us with an undefeated season (a rare feat), AND recognizing that the quality of play/coaching in all likelihood is NOT going to get us to the promise land.
This isn’t 1991, but it’s not 2008 either.
In 2022 we had 11 wins including being undefeated at home and having wins of Oregon, Oregon State, and the Cuogs, and then a win over Sark's Texas in bowl.
In 2023 we just went undefeated in the Pac12 with a 12-0 record -- something that nobody has ever done before.
Do we look like shit at times? Yes. But we still won.
There are enough players on this team that give a shit and are giving it their all.
Can we beat Oregon again to win the Pac12 championship? I have no idea. They've looked really good while I've looked pretty bad at times -- but we have 3 top 25 wins.
Oregon's only top 25 win is over an Oregon State team whose coach spent the week interviewing at MSU rather than game planning against them.
I like our chances with DeBoer at the helm. I'm not betting the house... but I like our chances.
This team has another gear and standard that they have not come close to for quite a while when you're watching all the other contenders hit their stride.
I need 3- 4 cushy league wins a year to keep my sanity.
Unforced coaching blunders are to blame for the lack of separation against shit tier competition.
We repeatedly kill ourselves in the dick. And win anyway.
The gear is there to beat any team in the country, the staff has held it back from performing to that level.
Once (if?) we lose it'll be a flooding of biblical proportions, but until then everyone needs to recognize that this team makes no fucking sense and shut the fuck up about it.
Did Oregon perform better? Yes they had to. They lost. Again. They had to grab Washington coattails like a man in a windstorm
I've seen UW go 12-0 twice. I've seen Billy Joe Hobart and Michael Penix. I consider myself lucky
I really don't care how people handle this. Some folks just need to freak out. I get it. There is plenty to criticize and this isn't dawgman.
But it is a hell of a ride and UW is going to beat Oregon for the hat trick
I am SO tired of THIS team...
...showing up and doing this:
DeBoer is on a 19 game win streak, is 12-0, and I don't want him going anywhere for those reasons. That being said, he's somehow doing it in spite of the staff getting a C- grade at best in almost every game since before Arizona (solid B against Oregon taking into account quality of competition) and a few key players making monster plays to bail them out.
There's a lot of cognitive dissonance on this board that guysm are choosing to ignore, most of it involving the Ducks. Nix is Checkdown Charlie, but why isn't Grubb calling the easy underneath stuff? Keg Boy is a cokehead idiot, but his team is fairly disciplined and has metronome consistency, while FNL-Coach-Taylor-Himself-DeBoer's shoots itself in the dick a half dozen times per game and completely disappears in half their drives on both sides of the ball. We make fun of the Ducks' 12-0 T-shirt debacle but are simultaneously tiring out both arms in a furious circle jerk over a 12-0 that's five days from being just as meaningless without the biggest course correction for any team this season.
Washington beat Oregon last time because they have more talent at a few key positions (see also: Clemson v. Alabama) and Lanning choked just as hard as DeBoer. Since, Oregon has cleaned that shit up and Washington has just continued to get worse. Some here talk shit about how easy Oregon's offense looks like that's a bad thing. They scheme guys wide open, put running backs into acres of space, throw to the tight end 10 times if that's what the defense is giving up, take what the defense is giving. Washington throws 40 yard back-shoulder fades against cover-2 because their receivers are really fucking good and scheming guys open is hard. They continue to tackle like they're covered in the literal grease and not the figurative. They finally give Carson Bruener some decent run like he was the biggest surprise ever. They continue to rush three on third and 17 and still somehow fail to cover the sticks.
I've always graded coaches on a curve. You don't have to win a natty to be the best. It's what you can get out of your raw material. This is a team with at least three NFL receivers, an NFL quarterback, an NFL running back, probably an NFL tight end or two, two NFL tackles. That offense is a shitty NFL team. That grading curve means they'd better be RAGDOLLING the fucking Coug's 250 lb. defensive line to get a passing grade. Yesterday was an F, "winners win" or fucking not.
Miracle their way to a win Friday, and all is forgiven. It's opening at Oregon -9, and I'm shocked it's not higher.
Some of us tilt toward pessimism or optimism. Blind optimism or pessimism creates tremendous blind spots. There is plenty of good and the six games plenty of bad.
Deboer’s greatest qualities is his sideline demeanor and his measured attitude in public. I can’t imagine seeing him behind the scenes. It appears to he gets the respect Don James did. He is built for this and is willing to take incredible risks and key moments. Some guys have it and most don’t.
This Friday is gonna be as intense as it gets.
Hth
Personally I'm done trying to explain the inexplicable. I'd much rather recklessly talk shit and deal with the repercussions if they ever come.
