1) Sam isn’t starting a game where bowl eligibility is possible - Jimmy isn’t going to want to tempt his long term employment on a losing season … so at minimum that’s 4 out of 7 starts for Morris … hence Sam still will redshirt even if he starts 2-3 gamesAtomicDawg said:

He would be better off somewhere else. Jimmy ain’t getting canned as much as I want him to.
2) I’m not disputing the shit coaching … good for him that he’s got 2 people very close to him that played in the NFL … I’d argue that what Huard needs more than anything else is reps
3) Jimmy almost assuredly gets canned this year or at worst next … Sam will have 3 years of eligibility remaining afterwards
4) Sam leaving is bad for Damon’s interests … not saying that that’s a reason to stay but I don’t foresee a quick transfer as a result
Let’s say he finishes at 4-8 … are you THAT confident that he returns?
If he returns at 4-8 Jen’s gone … no other outcome in my mind
Unlike Tawdy who didn’t value wins/losses and was willing to be a martyr … I don’t think Jen gives a shit about anything other than protecting her interests/image … and if it comes down to her feeling the pressure of either her or Jimmy … I’m willing to bet Jen saves her ass
As of today, my bet is Jen “retires” in the Spring and Jimmy is door.ass.out at the end of the 2022 season … with a conference road schedule of Oregon, Wazzu, ASU, UCLA, and Cal … thats not particularly set up well for success in a program that’s going to have lots of attrition and will not turn the tide in recruiting
4-8 he stays for certain.
Firing assistants/coordinators and maybe paying for better recruiters is what is being talked about as of right now. -
If we collapse down the stretch and Jimmy and/or Jen isn't fired I will never support this stupid program again in literally any capacity.dnc said:

I'm in too deep.
I think Donovan wasn't fired at the BYE so Jimmy could keep him as a shield. He's going to get a chance to do it with (a) new coordinator(s).
Jen? I have no clue what will happen with her. I could see her quitting as Teq has suggested, could see Cauce canning her or could see her getting extended. I really don't know.
But I'm confident Jimmy will be the coach in 2022. -
Jimmy isn't getting fired this year even if he loses out, he has plenty of excuse bullets left in the chamber.
1. Covid
2. Fire OC
3. Fire DC
4. Start new QB
5. NIL rules
6. Mass transfer portal blamed on Pete
7. Freak injuries
8. THIS economy
9. More time for his guys to get in there
10. Shuan Alexander and NAACP giving @DerekJohnson a reason to write Bow Down toWillinghamLake the sequel
People forget that Willingham went 2-9, 5-7, 4-9 and was still allowed a 4th season to go 0-12.
ALL of the things have to be exhausted before an apathetic AD and campus takes notice. Lake's seat isn't even warm yet "he has an above .500 record".

Thinking more about this I guess I have more faith in Cauce than I do Jimmy or Jen, in that unlike our HC and AD I'm not completely convinced our President doesn't care.dnc said:

Despite some thinking otherwise, Donovan is getting fired. Gregory is stepping down for health reasons or getting fired. A couple other assistants are likely getting fired.
Jimmy will get to run it back with new coordinators and a bunch of other new staff members. The offense needs to be revamped and we have to get some recruiters in. -
Wouldn't be surprised if Boner is gone given that out of 20 rb's he's recruited only McGrew is good and Emeka was just rushed onto the team...RoadDawg55 said:Despite some thinking otherwise, Donovan is getting fired. All I ask is that the media (god bless Vorel) hold Jimmy accountable in his press conferences after he cans staff. Hold him accountable for hiring a failed assistant RB coach to run his offense, someone who no one wanted yet still got paid well above the average market rate for an OC, instead of letting him deflect all the blame on Donovan and other assistants.RoadDawg55 said:Despite some thinking otherwise, Donovan is getting fired. The most infuriating thing about Jimmy during this shit season has been his smugness and refusal to admit that it's a things aren't ok. Saying that recruiting is fine, defending the dogshit offense by saying "this coaching staff proved last year that we can score points"... it's one thing to be shit, it's another to be shit and not own up to it. -

It's impossible to completely dismiss losing out if you remember the Montana game. That happened.
Take heart fellas. That's the minimum required to get Lake fired, and it may not even be enough on its own, but It really could happen. The roster collapse dominoes may not even wait for the season to end to start falling Another loss or two, more shit stories in the media blaming the players, more shit quotes by staff blaming the players, fans booing...I don't see some of the obvious portal candidates playing out this season if things go the way they're trending. -
The only way anyone is getting fired is if they upset the office of diversity enforcement.
-
This is all very depressing. I’ve checked out emotionally this year (thanks Montana!) so the losses and poor play don’t effect me much. Knowing I don’t get to have any optimism for next year either? That. Is. Shitty. Fuck guys and lady, it’s really a downer for me. It’s like Deja vu of getting kicked in the nuts. This all feels so sickeningly familiar.
