A guy came by our house to try to get my dad to invest in Ocean Shores. My dad scoffed at him

    Shitty golf course too

Went there in the 70's and Sammy Davis Junior was playing a hotel.

Took my gf there in the 90's and the same hotel was hosting the Footprinter's Convention.

Seemed to have slid since the 70's.

I've seen some of the most beautiful small towns and townships in upstate New York, Newfoundland and Quebec. Just fucking gorgeous. You're right, Washington just doesn't do it the same way.
Here is an example. Don't hate me.

The Washington beaches aren't much to look at, but they're great for razor clams. The water is cold as hell and the undertow currents will kill you, so they aren't really like warm water beaches.

I loved going to Open Sores when I was a kid, but I only show up for clam digs now. I like the upper coast though, because it's so wild and scenic - staying at Hobucks on Makah Bay is awesome - but you won't be catered to. Shi Shi beach and Cape Flattery are pretty cool as well.

I hope they open Neah Bay back up soon - I didn't get up there last year at all and they still won't let white devils in town.

Fresh water down there = gators, snakes and other shit that wants to kill you.
    Yeah, well there's that too.

After spending my entire youth visiting the Oregon coast, I have to say that the WA coastline is a big letdown. If I grew up in Aberdeen I’d blow my head off too, Kurt.
