I never get too bummed when a player transfers. We have 85 scholarships for a reason, and we only get players for 4 years anyways. Who gives a fuck if we lose a pass rushing specialist who only had one year left to play? Frees up a scholarship.

Shirley would have likely come into his senior year as 4th string at his position that doesn't exist anymore (behind Kikaha, Littleton, and Farria)
Shirley was good at getting sacks when the opposing offensive line forgot to block him. Any contact though and UW might as well of had 10 players on the field -

I believe we are already under the 85 limit. Shirley is a senior, meaning his scholarship would be freed up after the season. Shirley leaving hardly matters, but it is the offseason, so at least it's something football related to talk about. Now losing Taylor Hindy is great because he was terrible and it will free up a scholarship. -
