247 count Drew Fowler, Ruperake Fuavai, Hunter Hanson. Heimuli, Calvert, Bruener, McDonald, Tuputala, Lolohea, and Trice make it 10 freshman ILB
Ah You is listed as a sophomore Smalls listed as DE
Tuputala, Trice and Lolohea are OLB
Fowler, Fauvai and Hanson are walk ons.
Ah You is a freshman
247's list is shit and you guys are fags.
Naw Tup’s a mike backer.
Your list is shit and you’re a fag!
I think you're still right about Tuputala. He has always looked like a prototypical MLB and he was recruited as one.
I do know for 100% sure, though I cant point toward it or remember the source, that he was mentioned as getting a look on the outside. Maybe it was a journalist piece speculating about depth charts for the spring (I'm thinking Vorel) or maybe it was a direct quote from a coach, or both. I dont remember but it was definitely in print at some point last winter.
A MIKE is a middle inside linebacker. He’s not playing on the edge
Middle inside? Not outside inside, right?
Strong side backer= middle inside backer. At least know your basic football terminology 😁
Are you being silly on purpose? Or are you just fucking around?
Middle backer is the middle guy.
Strong side takes the tight end side
We don’t have the typical SAM in our defense. The MIKE is essentially the strong side backer.
In K's base defense, he call it a sam but it is another jumbo to set the edge and/or get in the back field.
Two of Benning/Bowman/Tyron etc at the same time (as sam and buck) with 2 DTs (often on the zero and three but he moves them) and 5 DBs in a nickel backfield.
The ILBs s the part of the defense designed to get on the ball with Will making the kill. A triggering topic during to Bob fucking up the Mike and Will all season long.
I'm trash in my 40s so no connects to recent players or to this staff but I wish I knew what he does to make Petersen and Lake think Bob is 600k man.
It would appear that teams have seriously cooled on this kid. I dont think he's picking Nebraska over UW, USC, Oregon, etc. Its likely a commitable offer thing like that edge guy who went to ASU last year.
That being said, our ILB room is a mess. We took 1 guy in this class (who has huge red flags), 1 guy in the last class, and then we have like 7 guys in the 2 classes before that. A whole bunch of those guys are gonna be hitting the transfer portal next year if they don't get much playing time.

The OLBs are Jack (we say buck in K's d) and Sam.
The Mike absorbs blocks and mixes it up to free the Will. The Will is faster and usually leads the team in tackles.
The Buck gets in the backfield more and the Sam has more coverage skills.

I get it though, we are full
🤣
Too rhythmic slappy, IMO.
Always preferred my slappiness smooth, me.
