Agree with “why accept the commitment now”.GaryFromTeenMom said:Not only “why accept his commitment now” but why the fuck are we offering players like this in June period?!
Fuck this shit staff...low t beta bitches
But the evaluation cycle for this year is fucked. For all we know, this kid could’ve gotten offers if he was able to compete in the spring camp circuit
“I feel like I have a pretty good handle on the local recruits. Shoot, I feel the same way about Northern California kids, I knew who Robert Wyrsch was before a lot of coaches did.
But I hadn't heard anything about Finau until this afternoon. In fact, the last player in the database from Renton HS graduated in 2000. So for some who might have said "he would have blown up this spring in the evaluation period", not sure I'd agree because I can't imagine many coaches would have made Renton HS a priority...
His film isn't bad, I kind of liked it a lot.
I hit a couple schools who recruit this area and they hadn't heard of him and even Ryland Spencer, who knows every HS football player in the state said he was just marginally on his radar.
So this kid wasn't at all on my radar.” -
That’s a tough battle, but I agree. There will always be guys that commit later based on easier playing time, the place they committed signed two more guys at their position, the head coach is fired, they are committed to a shitty school, etc.bananasnblondes said:Again, if recruiting is going this terribly, I'd rather Jimmy just shut it down and sit on his hands until the season starts and see if you can catch fire and get some momentum going again. You can get guys like this by offering them the day before signing day even if they are already committed to Central or PLU or whatever.
It reeks of lazy coaching, a quitters mentality, or both. -
Who doesn't?bananasnblondes said:

Huffman also noted that he reached out to JTT to get his thoughts on this commitment and JTT told him he didnt know who this kid was

Not sure where he saw this but Dawg101 on BDTW posted that sonics says Lake offered this kid out of frustration/panic because Schuster got cold feed about committing today. If this is true it's a HUGE red flag about Lake. The lack of discipline and desperation of this move does not bode well to how he'll perform as an in game coach.

I'm pretty sure he was misreading my comment from earlier in the thread. I was trying to say that sonics reported that Shuster committed but he took my pondering that followed as being something else sonics said, which he didntinsinceredawg said:Not sure where he saw this but Dawg101 on BDTW posted that sonics says Lake offered this kid out of frustration/panic because Schuster got cold feed about committing today.
