Mom is ready to fight the fuck on

People forget Reggie Rogers played 3 years of Husky basketball and FOOTBALL. Reggie ended up the sixth pick overall in the NFL draft. He had five DUIs, committed vehicular homicide and OD'd on coke, but still. -
I wish his daughter had played 2 sports. She could’ve been Gainesy before Gainesy.
-
I’m glad Hop did something right.

Don’t underestimate Hop’s desire to keep the local BB talent home too. JT plays with Hickman & Nowell at ESC and is longtime friends with Paulo. It doesn’t matter if it’s coordinated with Jimmy, point is Hop gets a lot of value out of recruiting JT too and he isn’t a BB scrub. Frankly I’m surprised this hadn’t already happened.
-
Probably Hops idea.NEsnake12 said:Hop doesn’t make this offer without strategizing with Jimmy about it first. This is a joint effort

I read it as #3:Tequilla said:
I view it in one of two ways:bananasnblondes said:
Yeah, it's a smart move that a school that's serious about recruiting would make (hopefully this is a sign that Jimmy will start to get more serious about it as HC). The basketball scholarship offer is meaningless since he's playing football but it's good to stroke the kid's ego.dnc said:
Being FIRST in both sports has to help.bananasnblondes said:I like this, although I expect the bb offers from tOSU, SC, and Oregon will roll in soon
He's coming here.
1) It’s a desperation play because we are getting blown out by Ohio and know if it’s football vs football we are in a bad spot
2) It’s a differentiator because Hop is committing to JTT that he has the ability to be a contributor to UW hoops and this isn’t a lip service offer ... also the ability for both JTT and Paolo to play together may hold some value in both recruitments
Jimmy just agreed to let him play both sports.
Guessing Pete wouldn't have. Jimmy probably considered then realized he has to.
Otherwise Hop already would have offered.
-
I know he’s good at basketball in high school but he’s going to be 6’5” and around 300 pounds. Not many good players that size.
I like the offer and it can’t do anything but help, but I’m not sure it really helps either. -

A mildly interesting development. In the last few days, USC has picked up a ton of crystal dongs for 3 different defensive linemen (specifically SDE's) not named JTT (Foreman,Mobley, and Armitage). They already have another 4* d lineman committed.
I'm sure they would still take JTT but it could be a sign that they are willing to take other guys that want to commit now
Now let us doog...

Agreed. Moms not going to move to LA to be in warm weather for 3 yrs and then move again to some where shitty like Cleveland or Cincinnati 3 yrs after that. Thick family from what’s been said. She’s not leaving Seattle and allah willing either is jtt for the next 3-4.NeGgaPlEaSe said:

This is a huge move for the family. Think, his family can now see him play every game whether it be football or BBall if he stays at WA. If he goes to tOSU, his family will only see a few games per year.....Covid dependent.

The most formidable presence at Haas Pavilion on Monday night was a 6-foot-8, 280-pound high school senior from Elk Grove.
Arik Armstead, rated the nation’s top overall college football prospect by Scout.com, wants to be a two-sport athlete in college.
Cal hopes he decides to become the next Tony Gonzalez and bring his multisport talents to Berkeley.
“I know about Tony Gonzalez,” said Armstead, referring to the future NFL Hall of Fame tight end. “He was a guy who did it at a high level in both sports, and he went to Cal, so it’s big.”
Armstead apparently is so good he can’t decide whether he wants to play offensive tackle or defensive end in college. Make no mistake, he also wants to play power forward.
“It’s definitely serious,” Armstead said. “I’m going to play both in college so the balance of both programs will be a big factor in my decision.”
Among 21 recruits who visited Cal for football two weekends ago, Armstead said he’s talked with both Jeff Tedford and Mike Montgomery about his desire to play two sports.
Both are on board with the idea, he said. Tedford “is good with everything. He said he and coach Montgomery would work it out. Cal’s definitely a serious contender.”
Addendum: Armstead is 6'8" and was the third highest rated basketball recruit in Northern California. He played in one basketball game at Oregon. 4 minutes and 2 points. Eventually someone pulls these kids aside and explains to them that they can make millions in the NFL and will never be a serious basketball player. NOC, I know - I've just seen this scenario from the local school before. -
You guys got him cause Tosh left. Plain and simple maing.

Playing football and basketball at the power 5 level is extremely hard for anyone. It’s near impossible for a lineman who would have to shed 30-40 pounds after football season to optimize his body for basketball, then regain it every spring.
