Mayor De Blasio will be proposing the borough of Queens be renamed Kurdtown. Queens denotes white oppression of the colonial period and the slave trade encouraged by the crown.GrundleStiltzkin said:

I keep wondering about the score keepers. Seems we have tied money to Chinka virus so if everyone has it no matter the cause of death the hospital gets more fed money. Money will always inflate numbers. Since hospitals are hurting it makes it worse.

Basic AAU protocol.

Grim dark reality today -
Grim dark reality is currently trailing normal flu season deaths by 50%. Better step up its game or seasonal flu will win in a blow out.

That is exactly what is happening. If you get shot on the street but were at some time tested or thought to be CV19 positive, your COD was from Chingchong 19.Sledog said:I keep wondering about the score keepers. Well that's because Mexico took the virus seriously unlike Trump.RaceBannon said:

And here it comes....we didn't completely overreact putting millions of people out of work for no reason, because look, this social distancing thing that almost nobody did anyway because Wal Mart was always full maybe sort of worked so here follow this red dot on the carpet while we go out the back door....GrundleStiltzkin said:I’d been feeling mildly optimistic lately about the progress of the epidemic, but if this guy and his useless agency are feeling optimistic too then I’m firmly pessimistic again.
Weren’t Birx and Fauci complaining just a few days ago that Americans weren’t doing enough social distancing to avoid the grim scenario of 100,000-240,000 people dead, as the White House model projects? How did we get from that to the head of CDC going full wowzers about social distancing efforts in a radio interview in less than a week?
Why can’t these people ever seem to get their story straight? The early predictions of the COVID-19’s expected death toll in the U.S. assumed about half of Americans “would pay attention to the recommendations,” CDC Director Robert Redfield said Monday in an interview with AM 1030 KVOI Radio in Tucson, Ariz.
“What we’re seeing is a large majority of the American public are taking the social distancing recommendations to heart,” he said. “And I think that’s the direct consequence of why you’re seeing the numbers are going to be much, much, much, much lower than would have been predicted by the models.”
CNN confirmed today that the famously opaque White House model does indeed assume that only 50 percent of Americans would heed the recommendations about social distancing. But … why the hell would they think that when 95 percent of the country is now under stay-at-home orders? Practically all nonessential businesses are closed. Where exactly are Americans supposed to congregate, even if they wanted to flout the social distancing guidelines?A week after unveiling a stunning projection for the number of people who would die from coronavirus in the US — 100,000 to 240,000 — White House officials have yet to fully explain how they arrived at those numbers…
A source close to the task force said it’s possible the eventual death toll will be “way under” the 100,000-to-240,000 figure.
A key factor driving the large estimate was a crucial assumption, discussed internally by task force officials, that only 50% of Americans would observe the government’s stringent social distancing guidelines, the source said. That calculation was not shared widely. In reality, a much larger number — 90% — is observing the government’s guidelines, US Surgeon General Dr. Jerome Adams said in several interviews this week. -

Mass death continues in NY. Still not much in CA. Clogged freeways better than subways apparently.

Mass death is a bit overstated
Also a record flu season in New York. Closing the country for another 18 months could help -
Plus 779 in NY today at midday. Ca at plus 17. Shut down NY.RaceBannon said:

Let my kids go back to school in late April. The one size fits all model is gonna be the death of us all.
There has to be a better way to handle this. -
After March, Flu death% down, Heart disease death% down, Pneumonia death% down. CV19 out of control! Hmm.YellowSnow said:

173 deaths in Los Angeles County is nothing tho. It has over 10 millions people. You know about half or more of those are dead people were in poor health that would die from just about any illness.
The hysteria needs to die down. It’s time to start talking about getting back to normal. -

This! That really is the crux of my displeasure. I don't actually wants bazillions of people to die, but for fucks sake, there is one, ONE, recorded case of Covid in my entire county. Shut down major hot spots, put special precautions in place at nursing homes, take special care with pre-existing condition people, etc. I am fine with all of that. But treating me, in semi-rural VA, like I am in the middle of pandemic WW3 is a fucking joke.YellowSnow said:
