I just want ONE of these political fucks to come out and say "Look, this is a temporary situation and we know we are infringing on your liberties....as soon as we get a handle on things, we will continue to operate as a nation of laws and rights and responsibilities".
Otherwise, Jay Inslee power grab forevah. Fuck that.

Very few regrets in my life but should have acted on mile high club/flight attendant fantasies during the week following. Could have pick up some stewardess trim relatively easily.salemcoog said:

As far as domestic legal measures go, I'd say this has been more extreme than immediate aftermath of 9/11. Weº had severe but narrow restrictions on air travel, and that was about it.UWhuskytskeet said:I don't even want to get into the politics debate of all of this. This is so fucking crazy. Yeah, 9/11 was bad, but this is way worse IMO.UWhuskytskeet said:I don't even want to get into the politics debate of all of this. This is so fucking crazy. Outside of 9/11, weirdest shit I've lived through.
I think we’ll all get through this, but I’m pretty appalled at how people have reacted...and I include myself.
Silver lining is I think we all are identifying where the holes are in our boats and can hopefully plug them up. -

I once got in a heated argument with an idiot co-worker (she was Duck BTW) about whether the Seattle Education Association was professional "association" or a "union". She tried to argue that they were a professional association vs a union. Christ.PurpleThrobber said:

I implied they call themselves an association to fool dumbs like you. If there is collective bargaining, it's a union. -
The Throbber's two dads were members of a 'professional association' called the SEA and WEA. The professionals held one another accountable, and I can very clearly remember them running less-than-competent teachers out of their building. Literally shamed them into GTFO because they had pride in their profession and work.YellowSnow said:

The goons that run those two groups are anything but professional. They are Hoffa-esque.
Fuck those guys.

Early to mid-April all this will go away and everything will be heading back to normal, albeit with a stock market that has temporarily crashed and some helicopter money for the masses. We aren’t going to run out of food and it’s not going to continue through the summer.creepycoug said:

Any legs to this thing?
For now, I just want to get some intel, if there's any to be gotten, on what might be coming. I want to get a sense if there's any real possibility of me having to do something uncomfortable to deal with my kids 3,000 miles away from here. The politics is a secondary issue at this point, unless you or someone can show me that this is all a liberal hoax.
Will be a wild next couple of weeks though mainly due to the fact that life won’t be normal with kids at home and a ton of people working from home and not eating out/etc. Feel worst for the waiters/waitresses...they will be hardest hit. -
Yes, I heard aspects of what you're reporting. I also heard a domestic travel ban is likely coming.creepycoug said:Has anyone else heard this rumor from friends who supposedly have contact with military personnel that the Pres. is going to invoke the Stafford Act to quarantine the entire country for some period of time?

MGM already has and the most profitable Indian Gaming casino in northern CA also just shut down.Tequilla said:Look around at what is happening ... full quarantine is happening this week
Inslee and the other governor’s aren’t shutting things down without knowing it is coming
Vegas also isn’t shutting shit down unless they have to -

If you want them home with you, get them on a plane very soon. I have family who were told by high ranking intelligence officials to get out of Hawaii unless they were prepared to be there for a while.creepycoug said:

I don't know on what legal basis, but I have heard full quarantine. I don't know how they would enforce it as a practical matter.
Stores were getting pretty fucking bare tonight. The checker was certain things were going to be berserk tomorrow after "an announcement". Bellevue QFC
Tomorrow I'm buying the best home protection one can buy. God bless the 2A. Also packing a bug-out bag. -

Agree but could see this lasting into May. We have just begun the testing phase and the media will panic us into hiding as the infection numbers go up, up, up.HoustonHusky said:

Thought about that. I'm not sure they're better off here. There's a guy in my neighborhood who's in ICU with this thing. They're both in smaller town settings where things haven't really hit.DuckHHunterisafag said:

I'm also not sure putting them on a plane is what I want to do either. If this thing were to extend into the summer, I'd drive to go them if need be. -
