This idea that Washington is just sitting around indifferent to all this is pure folly. The investment in facilities alone calls that into question. Hiring Pete calls that into question. Neither were we-don't-give-a-fuck moves.
It's not a light switch. If it were, everybody would do it. And if being a solid research institution were all it took, then Michigan and Texas would be in permanent dynasty mode, and neither has been a dynasty in my lifetime.
IMO, it's about two things: do you have the name and history to mean something to recruits, and do you have the right adults in charge to make it go? Everything else, including facilities, is a distant #2. -

Our? Overrated QB, and four OL on a mediocre offense. The Oregon offense will start slow for sure next year, but teams will still have to score to win, and I don’t see next year’s defense giving up many points. That Oregon defense next year will be a top 5 defense nationally.BearsWiin said:
