New OC/TE coach's first job is to contact him.

He might, but it just sounds like a "well, might as well just go to USC" situationNorwegianHusky said:

A tight end going to usc at this point is mentally handicapped. It’s like a big time tailback signing with wazzu or a pocket qb prospect signing with the service academy. They are either really dumb or just don’t care all that much about their future with football.

I believe that the point was made about USC. If Yary wants to go to Iowa then he would be at a great spot for tight ends and not much else

Kittle is great, but wasn’t that special at Iowa. He got better in the NFL and they didn’t use him enough at Iowa. Only caught 22 balls his senior year.FireCohen said:

Two guys drafted in the first 20 picks in the last draft. I don’t know if two TE’s from the same program have ever gone that high in the same year.
They had a third round TE in 2014. Another third round TE in 2010. Draft picks in 2007 and 2009 and Dallas Clark in 2003. They are probably TE U. -
there is no reason to go to usc if you are a TE that actually has skills or potential .. no reason.
last year they got Wolfe and Rae ... apart from being a legacy does it make sense to go to a program in disarray like usc?
better to go to Washington ... way better. -
Sometimes you have to tell this kids "Don't overthink it here" . With Legacy I get the decision is harder but USC is a no go for a TE that has any aspiration at this point. UCLA feels like the "I want to stay in SoCal and i'm not serious about my future" decision. UW is the "they've put some TE in the league consistently" choice. I suppose Yary is like everyone else at this point. Wanting to see who the next OC is so he doesn't walk into another Air Raid system.

There's no way he actually signed with UW, this has to just be Fetters laziness, rather than Fetters incompetence.GrundleStiltzkin said:

I don’t really care what “Husky Twitter” thinks of me ... that should be pretty obvious -

Down to UW, USC, and ASU. First big recruiting test for Kato Kaelin. Yary could be this year's Puka.

On the recruiting front, Yary has already visited Washington and has the Huskies high on his list.
“I had a great visit and I love the fit in their program,” Yary said. “I love how they use the tight end in their offense and they put more tight ends in to the League (NFL) then anyone and that’s big for me. I like how I would be utilized in the offense.
“They have a new OC and a new TE coach but I don’t think that will be that big of a factor for me. Coach Lake said the offense won’t change that much and the tight end is still going to be a big factor. I was told they want to live out of 11 and 12 personal so I think it will be good. I talked with new TE coach Derham Cato Sunday night and he’ll be coming in for a home visit next week.”
Yary’s last two visits will be to USC (Jan. 24) and Arizona State (Jan. 31).
“USC said they would use me the same way they use Drake London right now,” Yary said. “It’s like a flex out wide position, almost like a big receiver and I think I’m fast enough to play it. That excites me and I’m looking forward to getting over there and taking that visit.
“ASU is a new school for me but they just got the OC from Boise State, Zak Hill and I like what he wants to do. He wants to use the tight end and they don’t have many on the roster. He reached out to me right when he got the job and I’ve been talking to them a lot ever since. The plan is to take these last two visits and then I’ll make my decision on Signing Day.” -
