Had the same purchasing power as $235,730.00 in 2019. Pete in year 6 was making 18 times what DJ did in year 10. College sports corch chinflation is a god damned joke.

Players get $300 stipends though.

Coaches couldn't afford to fag out like Pete
I don't miss Pete, I don't thank him, I don't think he was anything special.
He's dead to me.

Capitalism has made the coaches and players soft AFRaceBannon said:Coaches couldn't afford to fag out like Pete

But he couldn't hack it in the big time. He took a lotta fucking money and run. -
Every month? If so, they are doing just fine.jecornel said: -

I’m in LIPO mode with regard to my feelings about Petersen. I went from worshiping the man to being bitterly disappointed all within in the span of a year.YellowSnow said:

Fair or not, my final assessment will hinge on what he does next. If he gracefully rides off into the sunset and takes a television analyst job or permanent position in the BSU or UW AD, I’ll be like, “hey, he did a lot good for the program. Thank you for that.”
BUT...
If he goes and takes another job next year at another school, especially a PAC 12 school, then I’ll be pissed. -
Damn race.

If he must take another jerb, I want it to be for #MyIrish.Doog_de_Jour said:

I think he's done with big tim coaching though. -

Dreams of NFL riches makes players sit out bowl games. Budweiser and pick up ads make it possible for Pete rake in 4.3 million, not WA tax payers.PurpleJ said: -
Sure. We must not have had capitalism back in 1985.YellowSnow said: -

That seems too low. They should quit football. It’s big ripoff. They should just apply, get accepted, and pay for school like millions of other non athletes.UWhuskytskeet said:Players get $300 stipends though.

Hint: creative destruction changes viewing habits. As such Budweiser and Ford are willing to pay bigger dollars than ever before to place their ads in front of a live audience.PurpleJ said:

And I'm as staunch as capitalist as any man, women, or trans person here. But the amount of TV revenue flowing into big time college athletics makes it possible for shitty to average coaches to make un godly seems of money. I'm not advocating any changes to the system, but it just pathetic to see Pete making 18 times what DJ did coming off an Orange Bowl win over Barry FUCKING Switzer. Hell, Babe Ruth, only made lik 1.2 million adjust for chinflation.PurpleJ said: -
Why do you hate letting the invisible hand decide their stipend?MikeDamone said: -
I was too young to remember and would have had to use Googles. I need to look up total Athletic Dept revenue for that year and compare with 2019.MikeDamone said: -

The real answer coaches should be paid a lot less, and players should be paid. EDIT: the dollars areYellowSnow said:
Way too big now for the players to not be receiving a portion. Have a stipend, and a trust they receive upon graduation or number of tests completed. There’s a million ways to do it. -
