I don't think the accountability laws are the ultimate solution. I also don't see the need to carry a gun in my everyday life, especially just running kids to school. But you do you.GrundleStiltzkin said:
Those accountability law proposals sound appealing to some with their sheen of pragmatism. But it’s kinda bizarre how that could play out legally. Here’s a scenario that plays out for me regularly: I have a CCP and often have a pistol with me. I also have school age children and thus on & off school grounds a lot, where carrying a weapon is prohibited. So I leave my gun in the locked car, out of sight. If someone were to break into my car and steal my gun and then do who knows with it, I’m the bad guy now?GreenRiverGatorz said:
Then do you support measures that provide more accountability to legal gun owners? Measures that would assign liability to owners' whose guns end getting stolen or otherwise "misplaced" only to be used in ghetto violence? Surely that would help stem the endless supply of illegally obtained arms that flow into the ghettos.Pitchfork51 said:The only way to stop gun violence is to work on improving inner city ghettoes

However, if, through technology, we could track your gun if it were stolen. Then catch the person who stole it, don't you think that would be a solution? Or what about a trigger lock tied to your fingerprints so only you can fire the gun? Again, I'm not the gun expert in any way, but I would hope people who are and the NRA could come up with solutions like that to reduce gun violence.
The overwhelming majority of gun violence is not from the crowd that's trained on and has respect for guns. It's generally from those that acquire guns through illegal means or legally with little to no training. I would support mandatory gun class in schools, like schools in areas with a lot of water require swimming. -

Maybe. To me it sounds like good policy. Now I don't know enough about the intents of the drafting lawmakers to speculate as to whether or not they're crafting these laws simply to scare people out of buying guns. I suppose it sounds plausible, but so does them drafting it just because it's good policy.GrundleStiltzkin said:

It's a good point. I think most gun accountability laws require you to have it kept in a safe at home while you're still free to carry it and leave it off your person when it public. If it gets stolen, your duty is to report that theft. Most state proposals I've seen absolve the gun owner of any liability if they promptly report it stolen. If a statute fails to build that in then it's a bad statute.GrundleStiltzkin said:

Not taking them from rednecks you fucking dipshit hondo.
The left is only against guns because white people own most of them.

This is exactly why we are not a democracy and have a constitution. Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting for whats for dinner. A republic is an armed sheep.2001400ex said:
Not taking them from rednecks you fucking dipshit hondo.
The left is only against guns because white people own most of them.
