If you look at Obama's upbringing it's easy to see that he has nostalgia and extreme empathy for the the plight of muslims and the 3rd world in general. I think what he and many progressives continually get wrong, is that there are some regions and cultures that just can be saved right now. We had to go through the process of modernization in the West and it was bloody and nasty (e.g., Thirty Years War). Now it's their turn in the Islamic World.SFGbob said:
