2005 350K miles. Never had any major engine work. Would have kept it but I needed a new master brake cylinder and Toyota no longer makes them. I was going to get one from a wrecking yard but no garage would put it in for me because of the liability issues, fucking lawyers, so I was either going to have to do it myself or get some pirate garage to do it for me. Wife talked me into getting rid of it. It was originally her car before we had even met and older than all of my kids.YellowSnow said:
Chinned cause we're 4 Runner Bros!! I've got a 2006 (4th Gen) with only 90K on it. That fucker's gonna go, at least, another 10 years.SFGbob said:He also talks about taking the cap off of Social Security taxes, so that we can give more money to retirees.
There are people I know who are my age who make more money than I make, some make less but they have little to no money saved for their retirement. Many of these people have been on fabulous family vacations, and many of them drive really nice cars, far nicer than any car I've owned, yet they've saved next to nothing for their retirement years.
Why the fuck should I have to pay more in SS taxes so that I can subsidize these people? I've intentionally never purchased a new car. Every car I've owned I've driven for at least 10 years, some of them longer. I had a 4Runner that finally had to get rid of that I had for 20 years, as a family we haven't done the weeks long vacation to Hawaii or Europe because it's too damn expensive to take a family of 5 on that kind of vacation and I'd rather put that money toward my retirement and the kids college.
So why is it that people like me, who have done without and saved are going to punished in order to subsidize the people who didn't save? Fuck that and fuck Bernie.
Don't see that many 20 to 30 year old Jeeps out on the road now do ya @Swaye ?
How the hell did you put so few miles on your 2006? Obviously not your primary car. I retired the 4Runner from primary car about 5 years before I got rid of it but I loved that car so much I still drove it all the time, mostly hauling kids to baseball games.

If he were smart he’d voluntarily pay the tax he is proposing, give 10% to charity and tell his critics to go fuck themselves. I’d think the cost would be more than worth it if he really wants to be president and get such transformative polices though. But he doesn’t and won’t. Because he’s a dumb shit and when the rubber means the road it’s socialism for thee, but not for me. Bumbling old fool.HHusky said:

I applaud Bernie for making some money.
I fully support him paying the lowest effective tax rate possible.
Low charitable giving is somewhat consistent with socialist ideals.
But when he as a socialist candidate for president throws the question "Why don't you voluntarily pay 52% on your income?" back on the interviewer like that, shows he's full of shit. It's his proposal, not hers. He is completely full of shit. And not a very good politician or socialist. Can you imagine the political win he'd have if he voluntarily paid at the 52% rate. But he doesn't want to. Because that's his money. What a fucknut.
He's almost as dumb as those asking why people favoring higher taxes don't just pay more.
(My charitable giving is more generous too. Maybe I'll throw my hat in the ring.) -

And if you really owned a company (S corp or LLC) you wouldn’t worry about a 401k max because you’d a have defined benefit plan that has a limit three times a 401k. But you’re a dumbshit and don’t know this, which leads me to believe you don’t own a business. Dipshit.
You’re poor and whiney.
My main job I have a 401k. And yes when I become an owner, the limits change. I do put into a Roth 401k through work. I am not able to do a Roth outside of work.
But you sound angry mike. Why be angry. We are just getting along. -

If you’re owner in you “side gig” then you can do a defined benefit plan. You need a better accountant. Dumb shit.

I drive a sensible 2015 Nissan Sentra that gets 36.7 miles to the gallon on average. Not that I ever pay for gas. Or insurance. Or maintenance
But I don't just preach the green lifestyle, I live it
If I have AC and bluetooth I'm happy. Easy to please -

Trash talk because I don't have a retirement plan through my side gig? El oh el Mike. Why so angry?MikeDamone said:

Good thing I'm not either. However I'm able to max my 401k, max my IRA (can't do Roth), go on a week long vacation every year (this year cruise to Belize), and get a new car every 3 years. So I guess I'm not poor and whiney. Just lazy.RaceBannon said:What he is doing wrong is not living in a wasteland flipping burgers
If you’re owner in you “side gig” then you can do a defined benefit plan. You need a better accountant. Dumb shit.
LOL at having a w2 job at a place you don’t own. Hondo is big time! No wonder he’s a leftist. -
Regardless of your side gig, you could do a Roth, dumbass. Also my yes if your side gig is real, you’d fund retirement through it rather than the limits of your employer (LOL) 401k. You likely don’t have enough money though.2001400ex said:

That is very true, I don't have enough money to fund more retirement. I should. But I spend it. I also have investments in a couple tech companies thru the IRS section 1202 exclusion.MikeDamone said:
